I started in Ta'Vaalor. Should I reroll unitl I start in the landing? I really don't know this town at all, and I am worried I won't be able to find good hunting scripts for the area.

Your character should have a travel token in their inventory. It gives you a free trip to any city of your choice with a travel guide (which allows you to avoid having to have any climbing/swimming etc). It takes a while and you'll need to move your locker later, but it is less annoying than remaking 50 times.

First 30 should be pretty easy once you get haste, just use a claid for the month. I'd put your logic and discipline higher to max your learning while you can. At long as you have max strength and enough agidex to swing in 5 seconds you should be good though.

These were mine... (and I messed up and forgot to change them before my window was up so I'm still sitting with these stats at cap. Don't do that!)

Suppose I could have put Aura higher for some more training points, but I think I did a bit into Wisdom so I didn't completely suck when I tried to kill things in the spider temple and they started binding me.

So I went to retire and reroll and only have 640 stat points to allocate whereas my first character had 660, and Glitch's character has 660 as well. What is going on?

Had a different character creation screen second time around that threw me off and didn't include the bonuses right away.

You get +20 for your profession bonuses after you allocate the originally 640.

You need to download an auto roller and roll until you get 700+

Ah the old days of the auto roller. Anyways I am getting taken to the landing now. I have no silver, and I think I found a good rat hunting script I will try when I get there. Anyone have a claidhmore laying around I can have? I started with a flameberge.

I should be on for the next 6 hours. Whisper Vesner if you can help me out at all. I will be at the keyboard unless I am resting, and even then probably still be just watching TV while playing from my netbook. Trying to get used to StormFront and quick with the commands. Seems I have forgotten just about everything I knew about this game command wise.

I never could get comfortable with stormfront after so many years on the wizard.

Don't forget you can get to about level 2 in the landing before you need to start hunting.

Talk to the old warrior, visit locations around town.

Got my claidhmore found it laying on the ground at the temple. Seems I found another script that works well.

Get lich if you don't already have it and ;repo download bigshot.
Read the bigshot thread for tips on setup and then check with some people on lichnet if you're still confused.

You'll be much, much happier than trying to run wiz/sf scripts for hunting. It won't do catacombs because of certain things but it will hunt pretty much everything else in the game with the proper setup.

I planned on hunting rats until 9 or 10. I got a good SF script for it. What should I be hunting after rats, and can I do it self buffed with a script? I prefer script hunting at lower levels.

Just to re-re-re-reiterate what you've been told concerning scripting: get lich.

Also, don't be afraid to just play the game however you want. If you're unsure, definitely get advice concerning training and stats right before your 30 days are up. EDIT: Your strategy before then isn't too consequential.

I believe I already downloaded the stable version of lich (3.5) instead of 3.57, but I haven't ran it at all or got any scripts for it. The rats SF script I found and modified is money, and I have already become familiar with scripting in SF. I will play with lich for my next hunting grounds. Just need to determine where and when to go. Hopefully lich shouldn't be too much trouble to figure out.

I am in the landing now, what is the best way to get guards/colors/blurs. Doesn't seem like many people do them anymore, and I hate asking the same people over and over for individual buffs, must be annoying for them.

I assume warmages don't need buffs to hunt solo? Does lich have scripts set for warmages, or will I have to modify them to include things like haste?

Not too worried since I will skillfix. I am going to stop at double leather though. If I decided to play warmage over wizard if it becomes too much fun with haste, am I able to change my appearance? I created a character to look like an old wizard, not a claidhmore swinging SOB.

You can change everything about your appearance except (if you set it) age at the feature pavilion.

Also, it looks like you downloaded lich from the original maker website http://lichproject.sourceforge.net which is now outdated and not used much. The newer version which everyone pretty much uses is maintained by Tillmen and can be had at http://lichproject.org
