Have not played this game in 10+ years now, and I see a lot has changed.

I will be playing Human.

Is 2H now a viable play style?
How does 2H differ from SnS for hunting as a paladin?
How should be stats and TP be allocated for my first 30 days in order to maximize my leveling ability through hunting?
If I choose to play a paladin I would definitely want to get the best armor available.

2H is extremely viable these days with the addition of the dodge skill to train in.

Your first 30 days for stats and skills is going to be pretty much the same for any class/race you pick. Pump up your physical skills and just dump points into a weapon skill, combat manuevers, and physical training. Many people find it easy to swing a claid for the first 30 days and then reallocate stats and skills right before you lose that option.

I'd look into the paladin folder and read over the advice both Andriodpk, myself, Farmer and a ton of other guys have posted over the last year. There's a ton of good info there...and you should check into Krakkipedia. Tone there too.

Where can I find these folders? I assume they are different from searching through posts? Also what is the easiest way to obtain a claid after creation?

On the main page just scroll down until you see the folders for different classes.

Sometimes if you go into the pawnshop you'll see one for sale on the weapons table or you can ask on the thought net (crystal amulet) and see if anyone has a spare one you could use.

For stats early on, go for 100 logic/strength (for maximum exp gain and maximum AS) and high agi/dex (for lowering your roundtime). Claid's are great and you can get a 4x mattock/maul for a low price (or free if you bug the right people).

If you pop up in Ta'Vaalor I can probably manage to get you some 4x armor and a claid or 4x maul/4x superior mattock. All types of 4x armor are really cheap, so as you gain armor ranks you can upgrade very easily. By the time you're 10 and can wear 4x, you'll be ready for brigandine already if you 3x armor (you need 30 ranks to minimize maneuver penalties).

I'd recommend sticking with Brig till you're ready for Augmented Chain/Chain Hauberk/Metal Breastplate. Those will be somewhat readily available at the levels you could be at by the end of your 30 day trial (About level 20-25 if you're tripling in armor) - http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Armor_Use

Why a human? borringggg.

2hw is very viable, my paladin uses a mattock and bashes skulls like nobody's business. A lot of people use OHB/Shield for the extra skull crushing ability over OHE/Shield. If you've been gone for that long then you probably need to do a lot of reading up on Combat maneuvers. - http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Combat_maneuvers

THW is very viable, all the way through cap. Nothing is more fun than smashing skulls with a maul.

Greatswords and battle-axes are also awesome weapons.
