I think Alzheimers and Dementia would be fun as shit.

Er i mean, when I'm old, I will pretend I have them. Even if I don't. That's a promise, not a threat.

Delias
02-09-2011, 05:08 AM
That this is all there is.

Coming to terms with the fact that this is all there is, is what actually gives me motivation to do things with my life. In the face of believing in an afterlife, I become lazy.... why would I need to try when I have a continue on hand?

My greatest fears are these:

My kid getting kidnapped.
Failing to raise my son to be a better man than I am or providing a better childhood for him than I had.

...well, really those are it. All my other fears are basically related to putting my life into other peoples hands... like letting my wife drive, or being a passenger in an airplane without having a parachute on hand... control issues, basically, but I'm one of very few people I trust to actually take care of business.

I also have the same instinctual fears that a lot of people have... heights, darkness and the things it hides, etc, but those fears will actually drive me to action, rather than freeze me up.

Gelston

B4Hand

Totally irrational, but a scary dream I have all the time..

Car in reverse, slipping down a huge ice covered hill, I have no power to control the car at all..it just drives backwards plowing over everyone and everything it it's way, I then plunge into a huge body of water (this is when I wake up).

I will do whatever I can to NOT have to back up as I go about my daily routine.

I have other fears, mainly involving my children, so that can't really be mentioned here (rules!).

I can't believe you brought up this movie so casually while using the verb "box." I caught this on Showtime as a kid, and since it had the SSC (Strong Sexual Content) warning before the movie I watched the whole thing because the only thing that mattered in my life was boobs and SSC guaranteed them.

The buried alive thing as others have mentioned, along with any one of a number of slow and painful deaths (or things that don't result in death, but are still more pain than anyone - or anything - should ever have to go through).

Also, falling. I've had a fear of falling since I was a kid. It used to be just the actual downward motion that bothered me - I could stand on top of the Empire State Building and look down without a second thought, but roller coasters scared the shit out of me. In the last couple years it has evolved, turning into a control thing. I could fly a plane myself (if I knew how), but I can't handle being a passenger in one anymore. I even get antsy with other people driving under less than optimal conditions (ice, too fast, narrow roads, etc), where that never bothered me before.
