When HURLing weapons, do they use the same AvD and DF as if you were attacking with it? Can you grip a spear or trident and hurl it two-handed for more damage?

Does anyone have a formula for calculating RT with HURLing, or figuring out what the highest weight weapon you can throw is? I've found I can't throw a trident, so a weapon with a 5 second RT adder seems like the cap for me. 100 STR (+25) with 509 up.

I know mauls can be hurled. That's about all I know in regards to hurling.

Avd: some yes, some no. Some of the weapons, like chakrams, have different DF's for hurling than they do for melee.

Grip: there is no gripping for hurling at this time, though the idea has been discussed.

RT: RT is wonky for hurling. That's all.

When hurling a non-throwing weapon the AvDs and DFs of that weapon are used. This includes spears and tridents gripped with two hands.

You are currently holding the vine-carved partisan (spear) with one hand.

You throw an ash-shafted vine-carved partisan at a giant rat!
AS: +99 vs DS: +10 with AvD: +28 + d100 roll: +15 = +132
... and hit for 32 points of damage!
Strike pierces calf!

You grip the vine-carved partisan with both hands.

Throwing weapons have different weapon bases when used in melee with the ATTACK verb.

Dart --> Dagger (Edged weapon skill)
Net --> Whip (Blunt weapon skill)
Bola --> Flail (Two-handed weapon skill)
Quoit --> Handaxe (Edged weapon skill)
Discus --> Cudgel (Blunt weapon skill)
