I haven't fixskilled him yet as he's hunting pretty well (he used to just do spellups and a bit of enchanting). He also still has his Society reset.

Right now he's currently a COL master, but I never really seem to be able to use wracking when I'm out hunting -- if I do wrack all I end up doing is 519 a few times to kill off a last monster or two before I head back to town and have my swords drop off in front of people and get a punishment from the Poobah. What I'm wondering is how much success are people having with GOS wizards would it be worth it to make the switch so that I can do warcamps with him, or will I just miss wracking when I'm closer to cap and using mostly CS spells to hunt everything?

If you hunt with bolts you are never going to be using wracking on a hunt. Even a halfling, gnome or dwarf will find spirit regain takes too long for that to be feasible. Wracking is most useful if you're hunting with 409/415 or most likely 519 and, typically, you won't be 519 hunting until near endgame anyway.

GOS is pretty awesome because who doesn't want crit-weighted bolt spells, but you will want to step your Physical Fitness training up to 1x if you go that route, since the Sigils are all tied in to stamina costs.

well cya

If you are going immolating route, you'll need wracking until you get to a decent level (basically when your 516 is worth a damn) You don't have to stay in one society though. You can join CoL now and go GoS later.

yeah -- it seems like COL has got to be the way to go once i can hunt reliably with 519, but right now with 1x HP I don't really get many casts at all before I'm OOM, and it generally takes more than 1 or 2 casts to kill a frost giant without much fire lore

You are far too low level to be hunting with 519. I don't think most people can start until near 70 and that's pushing it. It's a very mana-intensive hunting style until your Fire Lore kicks in and you're getting extra damage cycles and really wrecking things. On a related note, you have no Fire Lore.

Yea, right now I'm a bolted and I expect to be into my 60's or 70's. What I'm wondering is--how well will I managein gos with such low physical stats, with max Pt I'd only have 40 some stamina.

Voln is the best society for bolting wizards.

The added AS DS and TD is fantastic for a bolting wizard. As far as mana goes leech should be your goto. Aot depends on yer hunting style. I prefer 912 or 410 prior to bolting. More damage faster deaths less mana used.

You CON is way too bad for GoS.

I went GoS on a wiz I had with 65 con...it was doable but it still hurt that I couldn't use sigil of power often because the stat was too low.

If I redid him now I'd go dwarf and put con in the 80's
