Interesting to see what the players think. I won't give away the juicy details, but if you're a Crosby hater, you won't like this taste of reality.

I saw that, I lost respect for the polls when it listed the flyers as overrated.

PA teams split 8% of the total vote for "overrated teams." It is insanely amusing but not surprising to me that Washington took 35% of the vote. As for respect for the poll, you take the good with the bad sometimes... Why would anyone even bother to consider a mediocre team as overrated?

Not sure what you're trying to say here, so maybe I can elaborate.

Active Player you'd select to build a franchise around: Crosby took 69% of the vote. Next closest was Lidstrom at 6%, Stamkos at 5%, Toews at 3%, and Ovi/Datsyuk each took 2% of the vote.

Smartest player: Crosby, 29% of the vote. Datsyuk got 24% and Lidstrom got 19%.

Toughest forward to play against: Crosby, 29% of the vote. Datsyuk got 19% and Ovi got 11% of the vote.

Best Role-Model: Crosby, 26% of the vote. Lidstrom got 20% and Iginla got 11% of the vote.

And according to the goalies: Hardest player to stop went to Ovichkin, at 27% of the vote, with Crosby a close second at 24% of the vote.

The players have spoken, and spoken loudly and decisively. Crosby is the king of the rink. If the people he BEATS think he's that good, maybe the ignorant hater fans should start to appreciate a true hockey talent.

Its a canadian website voting for a canadian player who just won them gold at the olympics. he is a god to them.

It was a poll done by the NHL of 318 current players. There were no fans, coaches, analysts, or even team management voting in this..... just CURRENT players. Sorry chief, this poll is as real and unbiased as it gets.

Then its official. Hockey players suffer too many hits to the head. Players know that Crosby is going to be the media darling. Hes got talent and marketability that will draw in more fans and more fans means bigger paychecks to the players. They know who their golden goose is.
