What is it and what benefit can it provide?

It was the script engine/chat room that everyone used before lich.

No benefit. It's dead.

PSInet is a third party scripting engine that served to provide greater overall capabilities to the game. It is now largely unsupported, and I believe many aspects of it no longer work. As mentioned above, the new scripting engine that people use is called Lich, which can be explored here: http://lichproject.org/

Unfortunately no one can be... told what the PsiNet is.

Psinet was, is, and always will be a virus. Don't let anyone tell you anything different.

Fixed

I joined lich about a year before shattered opened up and it was still a pretty small community. Once shattered was announced tons of people got it and started playing with scripts.

Psinet was crumbling anyway. Shattered basically curb-stomped it as it lay there twitching alongside the road.

It went from having a sizable community when I left to Afghanistan to having about 20 people on it when I came back. As I am a chat attention whore, it was unacceptable and I switched to lich.
