I miss this show. I wish court TV would run reruns of it. :(

Is it like Law and Order, CSI, or Monk?

...uh. None of the above.

If I had to compare it to anything I'd say it's like NYPD Blue, but a lot grittier, less trendy, and more real-world oriented.

It was an excellent series. I wish they'd bring it back, or at least let us have some re-runs.

Anyone remember the miniseries called The Corner on HBO a few years ago? Was really good.

Hear hear. It was an awesome show. The cinematography was awe-inspiring, sort of reminiscent of The Shield.

I can't believe it isn't on anymore... but it had a shitty time slot and not a lot of people supported it. It was just too gritty and realistic and not Hollywood enough to make it.

Some of the best acting I've ever seen on TV was on that show. Did you ever see the episode Robin Williams guest starred in?

Homicide was an awesome show.. and I'm not into cop shows at all normally. You're right Maim, it had a horrible time slot.. it was like late Saturday nights or something. It's almost like they wanted it to fail.

I think it was Saturday nights at 11. Definitely a cult show. Like the X-Files was before they gave it a good time slot.

A lot of the subject matter was really contraversial and the show didn't bullshit about it, I think that the network execs let the show die because they didn't want to deal with the ramifications of showing people what death is really like.

Edited to add: I really like the Shield, I think because it reminds me of Homicide.

My freshman english college professor is who tuned me into this series and was always saying how it didn't get enough support. I still can't believe there are no re-runs. :(

There used to be... when I was a night owl, they'd play NYPD Blue reruns at 10 and 11, Homicide at 12, and Forensic Files at 1 and 2 on Court TV... not anymore though.

Monk is definitely grittier.

Welllll maybe not.
