Some dudes with some towers wanted to get in and pillage or something and there was a lot of baddies and a lot of goodies but they were all fighting together. And all these people were like omfg towers noooo! And the Bregadudedudes were like haha pwned! Belnia used to have logs. Not sure if she still posts here.

I remember hunting Bato in crystal golems, and then... Spidereyes floats in the room. She just hung there and then passed on by. What was the deal with that, there were player characters who were floating an all involved. I need to go look that up now too.

I dunno. I know they all ceremoniously went demonic when X was achieved. Someone got a somewhat epic weapon drop from one of the Bregandians when things finished.
Bato and Bjin were the bomb.

This is one of the more complicated storylines because they kept tacking things onto it.
It used to just be a Devestior/Spike thing.
I'm searching to see if I have any info on it, but I don't think I do. I don't remember why. I just have little tidbits and names and stuff... (like me killing Traleon and getting a pardon from jail).

Here's the best I could come up with... open them with Microsoft Word (or something similar; they don't like WordPad). The elven one touches briefly on Devestior/Traleon. I don't think I have anything more specific to the exact events you're wanting to know about.
Also, here's the clip of me killing Traleon. This was a case of his name being dropped as a bad guy and the GM controlling him not preparing him to be attacked (this was his first appearance and it literally was just me coming across him randomly in town).
.
[Wehnimer's, North Ring Rd.]
This road girds the town along the inner side of the north palisade. To the north are the two high spires of the land guardtowers. Militia come and go, marking the changing of the watch. You are just within the main gates, caught in a press of people of all races going off in many directions. Opposite the gates, you see the shop of Dakris the Furrier.
Also here: Lord Thurrfir, Targotyll, Lord Elfstan, Lord Traleon, Journeyman Devayne
Obvious paths: north, east, west.
Journeyman Devayne just went west.
>
* Traleon just bit the dust!
>
You swing an onyx-hilted eonake falchion at Traleon!
AS: +274 vs DS: +26 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +17 = +300
... and hit for 135 points of damage!
Powerful slash leaves Traleon without a left leg!
Traleon screams and falls to the ground grasping his mangled left leg!
* Traleon drops dead at your feet!
Suddenly there is an uproar, with people screaming, "Murderer! Quickly, someone call for the constable!"
Suddenly the town constable, supported by a sizeable posse, comes riding up!
The constable says, "So dere ya are Arianiss! We've a warrant for yar arrest. Now come 'long quietly or we'll hang ya right where ya stand."
With that, the deputies wrestle you to the ground, chain you and lift you onto a horse.
The constable and the posse ride you back to the Constabulary.
Arriving at the jail, he strips you of your possessions, opens a strong ironbound door and throws you bodily to the darkness within the door. "There thou wilt remain until the judge has words with thee!" he chortles gleefully.
With a dull thud and rattle of keys in a lock, the door closes and locks, leaving you trapped within.
[Wehnimer's, Jail Cell]
Dirty walls surround you, and a metal-banded door blocks your only exit. From somewhere in the darkness you can hear the sound of a creature moving about.
Obvious exits: none.
All your confiscated items will be made available in the Constable's Office once you have paid your fine. You have 1 hour *real-time* to pay your fine or any and all items will be sold to charity to pay off your fine. The timer starts NOW.
Round time: 5 sec.
>smirk
You smirk.
sit
>You sit up.
A large guard opens the door and shouts, "Arianiss, you've been pardoned! Get your stuff and get out of here!"
You follow the guard through the door and shudder as you hear the door lock again behind you.
[Wehnimer's, Constabulary]
The front room of the local constabulary contains the desk of the town constable, and a display case. The oaken floor is scuffed by countless feet dragged across it, obviously most reluctantly. Behind the desk is a weapon rack. A strong, ironbound door with a narrow, barred grate leads east. You also see a yellowed sign, the Constable's desk with some stuff on it and an important notice.
Obvious exits: out.

That is one mighty AS, especially by GS3 standards.
Invasion was lame, bunch of cheating GMs. I do remember killing a level 175 critter (not gay cheater gm pc), that invasion. Figured the level out by the fame rewarded.
In many ways that invasion was a lot like shattered and the sluntty shit, except GMs were the griefers. They'd hidden-GM-fog to you in town, cheat to immediately disable you, and kill you, then after you got raised they'd do it again, then again, then again. Seriously, I got killed immediately after raise by the fag GM pc who previously killed me more than once.
I don't mind a fair fight, but they'd give you absolutely no chance to even get a command into the game. RT locking you or something before even appearing. If it was merely a matter of two people walking into a room and whichever human on the other end could type first would win... that at least would be fair, if somewhat futile. But this, this was bullshit.
Seriously, imagine Sluntty as a GM and you pretty much got their behavior down.
I ended up reporting a fuck you gaymasters (or something to that regard, I'm sure I didn't actually swear) and hopped a boat to teras and firemages.

Isn't this the storyline that has been shunned and exists outside of the "official" Elanthia timeline or something? Some interdimensional shit.

Yea, GM Nebtwee (I think) went kinda around restrictions to set things off. He got bitch-slapped for it.
Honestly, I loved the invasions. But I always dug Devestior (even though he kinda flipped 180 in the War).
I thought it was a cool event. It was the first time I ever saw characters (NPC) with altered descriptions. They all had bloodshot eyes and blood lips and shit.
What specifically was the problem with the bregendian storyline?
And if someone went around restrictions so much as to get bitch-slapped for it, why did it involve so many GM's and PC's and last for as long as it did?
Seems strange to claim that it wasn't sanctioned or somehow was done incorrectly when it wasn't just a one and done invasion. It drug on for quite a while and had a large build-up to it. Was great fun.

I will be telling the tale of the formation of the Wehnimers Guard and the Bregandian War tonight that will cover the meat of the event along with a cohesive formation of the entire saga that really hasn't been done before.
It'll be at the Order of the Silver Gryphon Tales and Purpose Presentation at the Hearthstone Porch tonight at 9pm EST.
Within a week or two supporting reference material will be available on the OSG website at http://gsgryphons.net/ including Devestior and Spike's backstories, the west tower roof barony discussions, the ten deaths of juspera possibly, the teras reinforcements, and the Phoenix battle commendations after the event.
See you there.

My biggest memory of that was being just south of the landing and getting caught, subdued, and taken prisoner. You would end up in a wagon I believe and had to break out or be broken out. Fun stuff.

The thing I remember most... I was not around! Was gone out of the country or something and missed the whole thing. A lot of people loved that event, precisely for the reason that some are complaining: it was a bit more of a free-for-all with less of a story line and more of an us vs them, get them while we can sort of thing going on.
There most definitely was a storyline with it Kerl. It was one of the most well done stories I've ever been a part of. Not like some of the craptastic storylines that happen now that only affect people in a very narrow time frame and everyone else goes about their business with no idea that a storyline is even taking place. The Breg War had involvement across the board.

I added two more Tales to the Bregandian War Saga at the Gryphon Website. They can be found in the Library and are titled A White Wizard Visits and Devestior and the Lasy Key.
They are prequels to the Bregandian Invasion and setup some of the story of Devestior before they began.
As always the Order of the Silver Gryphon Website can be found here:

Pretty much. All I remember from the invasion was:
Janess suddenly fades into view.
Janess gestures at X.
X drops dead at your feet!
Janess snaps her fingers and fades out of sight!

The main things I remember from the war was the sheer amount of death scrolls Id see at times on and on and on. The other was the amount of bragging and taunting the gm figuires would do on the net. Kind of long:

I don't remember a whole lot about it, other than walking around with Mxenna blasting everything, Bregs could use our amulet thought net and would sometimes taunt us on there, and some random tent showed up on the coastal cliffs and if you could manage to get past the swarms of Bregandians to get there they were doing general alterations. I got my first alter (well, since starting over) at that tent. My rogue still has one of those glowing amulets the Bregs wore. No logs, unfortunately.

That was the first real test with using real players as NPCs. We altered their descriptiona like we could for GMs and gave them specific powers. It needed to be tweaked, sure, but that invasion was the first of its kind in that sense.
I started looking at Spike and Deveatiors history due to a discussion with a claasmate who played back then. Now I have the itch to see Spike and Devestior run around again. If only that was possible.

Here is why Devestior started…
Long long ago when I first became a GM I was down in the caves by the rats and three players were sitting in the safe area resting. I am sure you all know the place… I wanted to interact WITH the players instead of through merchants, etc. GMs have the ability to make some players see things in a room while others do not. So, I made one guys eyes start to slowly grow red. His buddies asked him what was going on and he said Huh?? So, I made his ears start to grow longer and his hair start to turn the same color as the rats nearby. Before I could even guess the next move his two buddies got out, drew their swords, and killed him in about 3 seconds. I was so shocked, but at the same time I was laughing my rear off! The power of role-play!
So, later I thought up Devestior and he entered the lands. The first time he showed up was at the Inn just north of the gate. A scream was heard and a body was found… and the first sights of Devestior was seen. It slowly grew from that.
Spike, Traleon, Jake, Glotaph the Wyvern, Simone (my RL wife played that char with me), all these characters were created with a basic plot in mind: an event to last for years which would entail a new world. (Part of that world was created by me but never released that I am aware of to this day).
Many unplanned things happened on my end that shocked me as well: Spike’s death was in NO way planned at all. He got caught up in the middle of a swarm of player’s spells and he died, dropping all his items. Needless to say that certainly was something I had to deal with right away. Also Jake was unplanned but a welcome addition. The inspiration behind Jake came from The Dark Tower by Stephen King.
What was planned: a slow invasion of Bregandians over time. The first, and biggest, was massive and went on for like 4 days. It was a blast and had about every GM involved with it, as well as hosts. Code was written to close all the shops in the Landing while the events were going on. That was a blast as well. Yes, the NPCs lead by non GMs did get a little out of hand, but, it was something that many people still talk about to this day when they think of Devestior and Spike. The start of this thread was what, 10 years after the fact?
I would love to see the story line continue and I have approached Simutronics time and time again to give it consideration. I do not want to be paid for it even, I just wanted to interact with the players and create storylines that would last for years. I think I started that.
Maybe, one day…
you will see a shadow out of the corner of your eye… a presence in the air… a cold steel blade being unsheathed in the darkness behind the vine-covered entrance to a forgotten keep entrance…
and a scream is heard from the distance...
