But whatever. It'll be 13 for us, by the way.

I am cheering for Green Bay. Only because the AFC always wins the superbowl. Also, if Pouncey can't play, that'll drastically change the OL for Pitt. Then again, Ben is almost better when you force him to scramble.

Didn't he go down on the first play? What did they rush for, 166?

Living in Wisconsin, I have to cheer for Green Bay. They really shouldn't have ever made the playoffs, let alone...the super bowl. Dream season, imo.

He has experience in big games. He played in three SEC title games, two national championship games, and his fellow players have been calling him a leader on the OL. He did leave in the first quarter, and the back up QB had problems, like fumbling in the end zone.

Pouncey is kind of a big deal. Their offensive line isn't fantastic with him, so losing him brings them down another step. The 166 was nearly all in the first half, when we can all agree the jets were asleep (literally, not figuratively).
Not saying they won't be able to run the ball, but I bet they have to be a little more creative doing it.
I think the game decision point is the steelers D. They are really good, but they can be thrown on. If their secondary shows up to play, I think they win by 7-9. If they get gashed, I can see them losing.

Green Bay wins and they'll put up at least three TD's; maybe even four.

Yea, Rothlesberger is a douchebag, but he's OUR douchebag! (Our = Steeler Nation)
I don't know if I'm alone or not here, but I think the only town still counting "titles" and not Super Bowls is Green Bay.

As for Pouncy... they called it a high ankle sprain last I heard, and he was looking to play. If it's more severe than they're leading on, he'll likely see limited playing time. For the record, losing a starting center is always a big deal... I don't care who it is or what team.

Oh yea, Pouncy's younger brother should be in the draft this year.... I wouldn't mind seeing another Pouncy on the Steelers O-line.

Standard recovery time for a high ankle sprain is 4 weeks. As a center though, he's got a decent chance at coming back in 2. Limited lateral movement, and they can brace it so it barely needs to move, but its gonna be close.

Actually, it's 23 NFL/NFC to 21 AFL/AFC wins... Pretty much split down down the middle. Also, the most recent years have shown the conferences alternating as champions, Indy (AFC), Giants (NFC), Steelers (AFC), New Orleans (NFC). So... AFC this year... Yoi and double yoi!

I know it's a liberal news source, but it's a good article. Worth reading.
Super Bowl Veterans Much More Prepared For Big Game's Unique Stresses (http://www.onionsportsnetwork.com/articles/super-bowl-veterans-much-more-prepared-for-big-gam,18985/)
ARLINGTON, TX—As the Super Bowl approaches, veterans returning to football's most high-pressure event have been doing their best to prepare their teammates for the mental stresses, unique physical demands, and quasi-supernatural nightmarish manifestations that only those who have played in the NFL's championship game before have experienced.
"There's really no way to describe it," said Steelers linebacker James Harrison, whose 100-yard Super Bowl XLIII interception return through clouds of whirling razors and past millions of grasping prehensile tongues to score a crucial touchdown is the longest play in the game's history. "The second you walk out for the national anthem, the crowd is roaring, there's more TV cameras than you've ever seen, the turf becomes an undulating field of red-hot pustulant nipples, there's the flyover… Until you've been there, you can't really know what it's like."
Added Harrison, "And during the second quarter, when you start having hallucinations of your teammates having sex with historical figures, well, nothing can prepare you for that."

Not Super Bowl news, but football related. Thank god this man will not be on the Skins next year. So fucking sick of his drama, both on the field and off.
Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth has been accused of simple assault and a summons notice has been issued by authorities in Virginia, police said Friday.
Police say he threw a punch at a fellow motorist Wednesday in a Washington, D.C., suburb.

Velazques told ESPN that after their vehicles jockeyed for road space in Reston, Va., a person he recognized as Haynesworth got out of a Ford F-150 truck with Tennessee license plates and confronted Velazques and punched him in the nose before taking off.
Given that the punchee was in his car and has the last name "Velazques," I'm going to operate under the assumption that the Chris Tucker Accords are not applicable here.

She tried to do the soulfully gospel African American female thingy where you can add any amount of extra notes and horse-like syllables. She could have been singing, if you want to call it that, anything.

BY technical sound difficulties, you mean that the studio wasn’t set up to make them actually sound good? I don’t mind most of their stuff on the radio so much, but its pretty obvious that its mostly studio magic and as far as stage performances go, it was closer to listening to a bunch of cats crowing up on a dumpster with a boom mic than actually hearing some good music.
Here’s to hoping they go in a different direction and stay that way. Either go with a proven stage performing classic/vocal rock, or if you want to try something more on the “hip” side, why not something like deadmau5 or daft punk?

I figure I gotta say SOMETHING here... Ross asked "how you feeling" in the Snacks thread, and meant to have it here... so... here goes.
I feel like if a team gives up 21 points off of turnovers, they don't deserve to win. The D didn't bail out the Offense as is typical of Steelers football. Even with all that, the Steelers made a game of it, and damn near pulled it off. That said, the season was a total success considering the Steelers ended the Raven's season. 6-8 in Super Bowl appearances... Disappointed a bit about the result of the game? Absolutely. Upset? Not at all. 3-4 to start the season without Ben. Steelers won their division, and the conference. Hats off to Green Bay. Their defense came up huge for them, and won them the game.
Truth be told, I'm way more upset about Malkin's injury than the loss by the Steelers.
