Several articles on Joystiq that go over everything from the potential price point (I'm thinking 299 for wifi-only, 349 for 3G/Wifi with a 3G contract) to the proprietary (god damn Sony) SD-like cartridge format.

I'll be pre-ordering one of these puppies for sure. My good ole 2008 era slim PSP survived several trips to Korea and a tour in Iraq and is still going strong, but in the 1 to 2 years before we see a NGP in the US, I bet it will give up the ghost.

I'd rather have the 3DS.

That is fricken awesome. My wife has one of the old ones that I bought her. She hasn't played it in like 2 years but I know that's because of the graphics of the 360 being way better.

But then this comes out.....and you're talking graphics of the ps3 and hand held? I mean...this is going to become a household necessity.

I'm just glad Sony never gave up and that they stuck with it. I knew that when they could get the graphics up to 360 and PS3 levels that everyone would want one of these just for the sheer convenience of it.

Some dude at the game stop awhile back told me Sony was discontinuing the PSP all together. And you know what, I believed him until today. Now I am excited as a little dog with a brand new stuffed giraffe.

Why would you believe anything told to you by a Gamestop employer? They're all mouth breathers in regards to actual gaming knowledge and "inside scoops".

Yeah you're not kidding I mean the guy said it so matter of factly. But they do that all the time. How many times have I gone in there and asked for some information on a game and had some blond girl twirling her hair tell me she's never played it or heard anything about it.

Here's a serious question. Will I be able to download and play MTGO on it?

Because if not, I'm thinking of going with a lap top. However, isn't Playstations internet option free of charge as opposed to the $60 a month for the Xbox 360? Meaning that I can use this new PSP on the internet for free of charge as long as I am in an area that has Wi Fi? That would definitely be worth it for me.
