So I'm headed to Savannah GA in a few weeks.
Give me some good places to hit, things to do, best restaurants etc. I've heard its gorgeous but it will also be over President's day weekend so I'm not sure how pretty anywhere is in February.

Anyways, the downtown area is pretty touristy. Riverstreet is always nice to check out. Spanky's (west end of river street) is a great lunch time casual restaurant, but I'm kinda partial cause I grew up with the family that owns it. The Conch House (east end of riverstreet) is pretty good as far as seafood goes, but it's kinda pricey. If you don't mind a little travel, head out towards Tybee and check out Uncle Bubba's. Paula Dean made the menu there and her brother runs it. Are you going alone, with family...etc? Fill me in on that and I can tell you about some stuff to do.

I heard there's some garden of good and evil that's awesome at midnight.
The walking ghost tours are pretty damn funny. Practically every house on any of the squares is haunted, supposedly.

I wish I could enjoy that book, but growing up with all those families really ruined it.

Not sure where I'm staying yet. Was looking at hotels and it looks like the prices in the historic district are set at rape. Airport hotels seem to be half the price. I'm not opposed to trying priceline either.
I'm taking a girl. Hoping to impress w/o going completely broke.

Was looking at the sixth sense ghost tour. Figured this would be a good date event.

They have the pub craw ghost tours. I'd recommend it. If you want to impress with a unique little Tapas restaurant, try out jazz. (http://www.jazzdsavannah.com/) If you are going to do something like Paula Dean's restaurant, try out Mr. Wilkes (http://www.mrswilkes.com/). You sit down at a table with complete strangers and eat until you can't eat anymore. Paula Dean totally ripped her off. If you want to go see some of the lesser touristy areas, you can head out to the Islands. Isle of Hope is a great area to just ride around and gawk at all the houses and history. Bluff Dr is amazing. Also Wormsloe is on the island. It's a gorgeous place where they filmed Glory, Forest Gump, that new stupid Miley Cyrus movie. Fuck, when are you going? Maybe I'll fly down there and give you a true Savannah tour. Complete with a visit to the Mansion de la Artley. Maybe the Solana's would let me go their Bluff Dr. house, which used to be a Civil War hospital and is definitely haunted as fuck

Going President's day weekend. Will get in Friday night, and Leave Monday Morning. Nice little 12 hour jaunt. Hoping I get in early enough to do something Friday night.
