My new ranger..

Hey.
Started a new ranger who is ranged and plan on sniping. I was wondering about stats..
I know DEX is main stat for AS..
And that Str is the main one for RT.

Strength (STR): 81 (15) ... 81 (15)
Constitution (CON): 52 (1) ... 52 (1)
Dexterity (DEX): 92 (31) ... 92 (31)
Agility (AGI): 72 (16) ... 72 (16)
Discipline (DIS): 71 (5) ... 71 (5)

Main reason to post is that it seems that I can't carry jack really without it starting to add up.
Think I should move some from Dex to Str? Is there a certain spot that will let me carry a little extra more.
Also when I get 606..will that help me carry more? Or does that just add to RT?
Also if you guys see anywhere else that I can change some stuff please let me know.
I'm trying to make this guy get up there in levels.

My macro to pick up arrows is

How can I make it bundle them in the quiver when I pick em up?

They should auto bundle with defined containers.

How many arrows do you have at a time? They do have a weight. I'd also seriously suggest going through all your containers and fluff and gear. Your strength and con aren't incredible but they're not not that bad either. You shouldn't be having this many problems.

Race, STR and CON factor heavily into encumberance. You're getting hit by the low CON for carrying capacity. Phoen's will alleviate it some but you'll be feeling the difficulties of low carry capacity until your stats climb.

Your macro should be:

\rgather arrow\rput arrow in arrow in my quiver\r

That will re-bundle the arrows you've fired with the bundle in your container.

And also, should I change any stats then?
I actually moved 5 from Dex to Str. Since I thought Dex might go up fast.
Should I change back?
And also should I maybe move that five into Con instead?
Should I move any mental stats ? I just sort of auto'd it then moved some to where I knew I needed em at the beginning levels.

you should just 2x ambush, 3x hide, and ambush with a heavy ohe

arrows.. require a lot of precision.. and i just dont see it as a viable path so early. i could be dead wrong - i would talk to the briar fox. you have 30 days for your fixskill. honestly use a pole-arm / THW and 610 to hunt until 19 or so, then i would fixskill a pure ranger and spike zombies until about 24 (this is assuming you can use wracking) and by that time the 30 days is up and you can do whatever.

Ya, general strat is to go through your first 30 days swinging a claid at anything that moves and then burning your fix skill to a build you actually want to level with. Your annual fixskill comes up in May so if you don't like archery you can change mid summer

I really wonder about your gear + armor + containers. It shouldn't be that bad. You're nowhere near playing a halfling or gnome.

I know I shouldn't be doubling armor...or it might be tough..but I seem to manage it for now and would like atleast brig asap.
Should I be 2xing ambush?

And also having a hard time choosing a society..definitely not VOLN..
but between the other two..any tips from a ranger perspective?

Lastly...should I change any stats? My con is mad low for GoS if I went that route...

As Kitsun said, initial stat placement is really all about how much long-term stat growth you are willing to give up in favor of the short-term ease of leveling at the lower levels. I won't comment on your stat placement other than to say that you apparently value the short-term over the long. If that wasn't your intention, familiarize yourself with the site above.

As far as your training, it looks more or less spot on. I disagree that you "shouldn't" be doubling armor -- it's exactly what I'm doing with my new ranger. As soon as you hit the 30 ranks for brig, however, I'd stop training it completely for the next 30 levels or so until you're ready to start pushing for chain, at which point you can use stat-growth-TPs or cut back on other skills to play catch up. In the meantime, the points you'll save on stopping armor should allow you to load up on more ambush and auxiliary skills to your taste.

Ah, thanks for the response!
I mostly put the stats that way for short-term, for now, but once it's closer to actually being 30 days up i'll probably change them for a little longer.

Any comments on society? If not, I'll probably join CoL as it seems no one razes camps anymore really.
