Just saw this article and thought it was kinda crazy

A map of snowfall in the United States is revealing right now: 49 states have snow on the ground and only one does not.

From the southern snow storm heading north, which is affecting air travel, to the storm in New York City, and flurries out west, there's plenty of white stuff going around.

The lone state without a flake? It's the Sunshine State...Florida. Locals are celebrating the fact, though interestingly, parts of the state saw snow just days ago.

Even Hawaii has snow, in Mauna Kea on the Big Island.

Got to commute to work in the storm at 5 am this morning, visibility in places was literally under 10 feet. Driving thru the woods following tire tracks hoping the fool out in the storm before hadnt driven off into the trees or a lake is exhilirating. Got out early, because who the hell other then fools working in retail had work anyway, had to stop 3 times to clear ice/snow/slush buildup from the wheel wells and the space between the radiator and grill and framework. Saw something like 20 vehicles off the road, including a dunkin donuts tractor trailer.

Even Hawaii? Crazy.
On the Big Island, Mauno Loa and Mauna Kai are both over 13,000 feet elevation. On Maui, Haleakala is over 10 or 11.

They are consistently snow covered during the wet season every year. The locals go up there (Mauna Kai mostly) with their pickup trucks, fill them with snow, and bring it down to sea level for their kids to play in, or to throw snowballs at tourists.

This was on the summit of Mauna Loa around March or April.

Well, color me educated. I guess I always thought of Hawaii as sun and sand. Typical tourist.
