Buccaneers will repeat again and will threaten Miami's Undefeated Season before succumbing to a questionable call against the NY Giants.

a stupid betting man takes the cardinals as they have no chance. Your best bet is to take a midrange team that will likely make the playoffs. When you pick a top end team the payoff isn't that great and its not real likely the favorite wins the superbowl. Midrange teams have a legitimate shot of doing something, and the payoff is nice.

I hope not. I threw out my "Dallas Sucks" sweatshirt when Dallas was no longer a challenge for the Eagles.

Here is a list of teams that were good and improved during the off season:

Buccaneers
Miami
Giants

I haven't seen anything improve for the Eagles at all over the offseason. They will be in the hunt.. but they won't get past the Giants this year.

And watch out for Detroit and Cowboys. Not this year, but the coaching change for both of those teams will be dramatic.

I am going to say the Raiders will be in the Super bowl this year. Being a former football player, I can tell you revenge is a MAJOR driving factor. They're probably foaming at the mouth to get another shot. So like I said, Raiders all the way.

Watch out, if we can get a quaterback that stays healthy and not have to put Josh Booty in, there is going to be some great competition.

Um they drafted Jerome McDougal a coveted defensive end who will be better than Hugh Douglas. Hopefully McNabb will be healthy all year.

I like San Diago with the addiction of Boston. Thomlason/Boston combo will be feirce offense. Their D is always strong.

But I am going to to pick KC. Vermeil has a weird 3 year knack of winning superbowls. It's his third year. If they had the second worst defense instead of the worst, they would have been in the run last year. They strengthened their linebacker core and hopefully the CBs will do decent. Their safties are some of the better ones. So they could go all the way.

Uggg id rather have them go 0-16 and stay in Minnesota than have them move to LA and win the super bowl.

They lost Trotter and really drafted for the future and not the present.

They will contend, but I don't see them winning the East let alone being a real threat to Tampa.

Rememeber... Tampa went into their house last year and thoroughly kicked their teeth in. Last game in Veteran. That in itself should have motivated them to play as good as possible.. let alone the winner goes to the SuperBowl.

And it wasn't a fluke or bad call or even a close game.

Eagles finish 2004 at 10-6

And the Eagles smoked them before that (3 times I think if you include last season). The Eagles choked, that's it. They were a better team, they just didn't play well. Tampa Bay won't make it to the super bowl, I'll put any amount of money on that. Trotter and Douglas aren't the Eagles defense. Their defense is the secondary, which is one of the best in the league. Eagles go 12-4, Tampa Bay goes 10-6, Giants go 11-5. Eagles Vs. Giants in for the championship, winner of that will play Oakland.

If Boston can return to his 2002 form.. maybe. But San Diego did lose Junior.. don't discount his value as an old veteran.

I too see KC as being a contender this year... IF the injury to Holmes is not hampering him AND if he doesn't hold out. I think Trent Green will be a little more accurate this year, but without Holmes keeping the defense honest.. he could be in for a year of hard knocks and injuries. There's alot of "ifs" right now with KC... most of them surrounding Holmes.

I happen to think the Eagles do have a pretty good secondary.. I just don't think they did enough in the off season to get to the Superbowl.

The Bucs are going into their 2nd year of the Gruden offense and will only be better barring any major injuries. Their defense lost 2 members but were replaced with at least players on the same par. Bucs also didn't lose a single coach.

Bucs won't have a cake walk.. everyone will be gunning for them as SB champions... and they have major questions in their running game. I just don't see any team that was a good team last year that got dramatically better this year.

Well Park. Last year they lost their 2 safties to injury. Wesley will be a probowl safty this year. Woods could be to. They are moving Maslowski to the center of the linebacker core. Fugita is on the weak side I believe and fast. Then they brought in, can't remember. A free agent that is fast. So they got now have speed they was lacking last year. They picked up McLeon who could bump Bartee out of his CB position so they are looking good there.

Now on offense they have a awesome fullback who will pave the way for Holmes. Holmes will be 100%. He stays in to good of shape. Plus they pulled him last year at the end of the session because they wanted to save him since they had no Playoff hopes.

But its like with any team. A injury could take them out of the game.

KC is going to be awesome to watch this year. They are on tonight in a preseason game.

I can't say I don't agree with you Edge.. god this hurts...

But I heard Holmes had the same type of hip injury that Bo Jackson had. Haven't really heard much since then.. except he's holding out. Are these still the case?

And Trent Green is a capable QB. He had the 4th best QB rating last year in the league... threw for 3690 yards and had twice as many TDs as he had interceptions. He needs more capable receivers to take the pressure off Holmes and Gonzalez. When their top receiver is Kennison.. you know you can do much better. Kennison was the same guy that was the 3rd receiver with the Broncos and decided mid-season to quit.

God I was hoping KC would snag up Boston. That would really have been awesome. Ya, I agree that they need better receivers. But Gonzalas always pulls a double team and that makes the medicore receivers look like stars in everyones eyes.

As for Holmes. I just moved away from KC and all my buddies say he is good to go now. But you never know.

I hope you do well in FF this year. I don't have the time myself. Started a business recently and in Florida right looking for a place to live and opening up a warehouse right now. God, never realized how much work is involved in a small business. Good luck.

KC has a good shot at the playoffs. Their defense is much improved, and having Ryan Sims in for a full camp should pay dividends this season. Still mystified why they drafted Larry Johnson in the first round of the draft, with their secondary as shitty as it is, but oh well, they musta thought Priest was gonna be hurtin. They got the best offensive line in football, a very good underrated quaterback, best receiving tight end in the game, a return specialist in Dante Hall, and a decent pass rush. Let's hope that secondary can make some plays this year.

Gonzalez was the best with no question.. but Jeremey Shockey really proved he was worth the hype last year.

It's at least debatable now.

I've always thought Trent would do well under Dick V. He knows the system and should be better this year. I think if Holmes stays healthy and they get some more WR help.. Trent could be the best QB this season.

>>Trent could be the best QB this season.<<

>>Gonzalez was the best with no question.. but Jeremey Shockey really proved he was worth the hype last year. <<

Shockey is the better blocker, but I'll still take Gonzalez over the middle any day. Todd Heap is another great tight end with good blocking/receiving abilities. Look out for Daniel Graham in New England this year. Probably the best blocker of the four, with great hands and can run after the catch like Shockey.

As far as Trent. He'll be a top 10 quaterback, but the best? I doubt that. I'm not on the Mike Vick bandwagon like the whole world seems to be, but he has a legitimate shot to be a premier QB with a great target like Peerless Price to throw to. He has to learn to slide and get out of bounds or he will get hurt. I look for Patrick Ramsey to have a big year in Washington, and also Hasselbeck in Seattle.

I dislike Vick... and it helps that feeling when my team shut him down completely last year in 2 games.

If you are looking for QB ratings.. Trent was in the top 4 last year. He has another season under his belt with Dicky V. and it looks like Holmes will be able to produce. Peerless will need another year to study the system.. he never seemed to pick up schemes very quick.

I don't know about KCs receiving corps.. but if they pick up anyone halfway decent to go with Gonzalez, Holmes and Kennison.. he could have his best year ever.

I agree.. Hasslebeck (Dilfer's hurt again) should be named starter and have a great year. He really kicked ass at the end of last year.

1 season means nothing. Look at his year before that. He had 1 good season. People who base how good QB's are on their stats no nothing about football.

I bet some people here think Randell Cunningham was a good QB and Emmitt Smith was better then Barry Sanders. First off, with Randy Moss and Chris Carter, anyone could throw the football up in the air. Most of the time, one of them with pick it up. Secondly, Emmitt Smith had one of the best offensive lines in the history of football. I could have ran for 1000 yards every season with that line in front of me.

Trent Green had ONE good year. That doesn't make him a good QB. He can't read defenses for shit, he throws screens to Priest Holmes often because he can't pick can't find open recievers. (Yes I know, his recievers blow) He has a great TE he throws too. He can't throw down field for shit. When he gets in his slumps, which he does often, he justs hands it off to the Number 1 RB (Although Clinton Portis was pretty amazing last year, especially being a rookie.) in the league until he can get back into things. KC will go nowhere this year.

Zanagodly
08-06-2003, 05:30 PM
I have to disagree. Green had a good year a couple years ago as well just threw way too many interceptions like Culpepper did this past season. As far as Emmitt Smith, I agree he doesn't make the top 5 running backs of all time, but he does make the top 10. He was a very good running back, but he did benefit from a great line and a good passing game. He didn't have to make his own yards like Sanders did.

Parkbandit
08-06-2003, 06:15 PM
Nobody can touch Sanders as a RB. He was simply amazing to watch.

And Trent Green is a good QB. Certainly the first year with KC was shaky.. but that's what you get when you completely overhaul the offense and put in a new coaching staff.

Barring injury.. he will have another great season.

Zanagodly
08-06-2003, 06:31 PM
What's also even more impressive about Sanders is he didn't run behind a fullback. Having a lead blocker is a huge asset, but when your running back doens't need it, it just disguises the play action even better. The guy was pretty amazing.
