It's concerning my post 9/11 GI Bill. Last September they gave a bunch of people a $3000 advance since they were behind in payments, each month they've been deducting $250 from my benefits to pay it back. This summer for some reason they started taking out $750 which was screwing things up for me so they told me they were going to scale it back to the $250 again. Two months ago they said this was all cleared up. Last month they did it again and I ended up having to borrow some money to pay for rent/other things. This morning they did it again and when I called them they act like they don't know what's going on..

So i've been up since 6am waiting for them to open and I actually got through right away. The lady I spoke with says she doesn't know why that happened but she's going to refund the missing money for this month. 15 days supposedly but i'll believe it when I see it.

I don't actually know who said that the only thing that saves us from the bureaucracy is its inefficiency but that shit is dead wrong. Unless it's something like, IF bureaucracy = THEN inefficiency = TRUE in form1. DO BEEP LOOP. I couldn't argue with that shit. 1) Alcohol.

2) Get a lot of manager's names from various call centers.

3) Accidentally forget their numbers. I mean, that is why you're calling them at their home # seven times with inquiries regarding your payment.

4) I will teach you to make one million dollars. Get a deal with a record label and rap about video games. So simple: No skill involved. When you see it, you be like, "I no believe."

5) Real estate.

Actually that was the exact opposite of personal. Took me eight months to finally get an appt. with VA for a disability rating. It's not even like I want the over abundance of funds they have, just the damned veteran's preference to find a damn j-o-b.

I've not had any issues with the VA thus far.

They just did this to me as well. They stated I owed them $3300 bucks. I have completed just shy of 5.5 years of active duty time and have been to Iraq TWICE! I have a total, with Guard, of about 11.5 years in the military.

When I joined I already had a bachelor degree, so instead of the GI Bill I declined and took the loan repayment program. This is where they payback 10k of existing student loans. I could have submitted my documents on day one after completing basic, but I didn’t, because I was young and dumb and did not submit until about 3 years into my enlistment.

After using the 9/11 Bill for the last 2.5 years I get a letter stating I owe them $3300 bucks because they do not recognize my full active duty time; They state it starts from the last loan repayment check in 2004 not when I started active duty in 2000!

So in their eyes instead of 5.5 years of active, I only have like a year and half. This is why they state I owe them $3300 bucks; because they paid me ay 100% and they should have been paying me 80%.

So freken crazy I want to pull my hair out...if I had some left! =)

I just got something from Deposit - US TREASURY 310 XXVA BENEF and I'm trying to figure out if it is GI Bill money (Which it shouldn't be because I haven't even applied to the college yet.)
