No, dextromethorphan is not a stimulant, it is a dissassotive. But you can find it as the only active ingrediant in many products nowadays. And it is still legal over the counter.

Um, I think I had some sort of white ambien capsule thing. Then when I started feeling it, I just "stayed awake." After a while I begun to see bright flashes, and every time i moved my eyes i felt like i weighed 5000 pounds? also, something with looking at stuff that wasn't moving, and it looks like it is. My doctor gave me a prescription for ambien last spring when I was about to graduate college AND planning my wedding and I was so stressed I could not sleep to save my life. They're little itty bitty orange pills.

I found that if I would go lie down in a dark, quiet room after taking one I would promptly zonk out, but if there was any kind of stimulus - like the first night I took it, when I was still IMing 30 minutes after I took it and claimed to Kevin in IM to be "sewing these letters on a white silk quilt" - I would go a little nuts.

Once this past fall after we moved to Vegas, I took one and Jake had the TV on. The curtains in our bedroom were blowing around a little and I *swear* I saw wagons rolling through them, enough so that I shouted, "Roll out the chuckwagons!" which of course made Jake laugh a lot.

Hehe. Shrooms, Acid, Hypnotics, etc., all deplete seratonin in the brain. Ever try staying awake for 5 days straight, without the help of medical agents? You start tripping the fuck out. This is what the aforementioned does, you pop a tab, lick a paper, and your brain suddenly thinks it hasn't slept in 11 months, hence some very strange neurological defects.
