I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but I figured a few of you might have the coin to be competitive. You need to be premium to bid, but I don't think the property is on FWI. They haven't announced what properties are going up, and it doesn't sound like they will until right before the bidding begins.

As posted on the calendar:
On Friday, December 17th:
"Several private properties will be auctioned off for silvers. Specific details regarding which properties, which city or town each is located in, and what each offers will be available at the auction. Note that none of these properties are new -- they are currently vacant properties in need of new owners."
The proceedings will start off around 10pm EDT, and they will take place in the Meeting Hall in Firefly Villa (which is on IFW.)
Although none of the properties are located on IFW, the auction will only be open to those who can actually get to IFW.... go Premium!!
ALSO NOTE -- there is a separate auction taking place in Platinum on Thursday the 16th for the properties that are vacant there! There's an announcement for you guys on the Plat boards!

how much do these things go for?

It depends on the location. If it is in some place like River's Rest, possibly a small amount. 20-30 million. If it is something like an Airship or property in Ta'Illistim or the Landing, it will go for hundreds of millions of silver.

airship... they should make an airshop. That you could move to whatever city you wanted. Then auction it off, never finish it, and screw over the buyer.
But yeah... an airshop would be nifty.

If anyone could keep a quick run-down of what properties were sold, I'd be very grateful. Just a quick list of which property it is and perhaps sell info if you're feeling spunky.

Properties are in Pinefar, Teras, and Icemule. Someone can provide specifics beyond that, i'm sure.

three non-workshop properties sold, including quite annoyingly Blades' tower. prices were 25,30 and 40 million. Kerl, Brute and Lucos were the winners, apparently Brute bought his to hide from adoring gnomish wimmen on Teras

The properties all went for under 50 mill. The Dark Tower was Blade's old house. People were pissed it was taken from him. Lucos bought it. I think Brute got the Teras property. Don't remember who got the Pinefar property.

Kerl got the Talon Redoubt.
Lucos bought the dark tower to give to Blades.
Brute bought the Mesmere Bungalow which he can thankfully rename. I think it should be Tiny Weenie, but thats just my thoughts. :)

I'm assuming from the low prices that these properties have no mechanical value at all, sort of like a forhead gem for men?

Cheaper then a forehead gem in general too, and alot less stupid ass scripts too

They don't need no candles. The soft glow of forhead gems will keep their high class bedrooms lit at night.

Don't they have some storage space?

Talon Redoubt is fairly tasteful, and I suppose I couldn't ask for a better location. And yes, they do come with some storage.
[Mesmere Bungalow, Study]
The study is a circular chamber, its walls a darker shade of grey than the room just above it, though the stone is as richly veined and polished. One wall defies the curved sweep, its expanse flat to accommodate floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with the pattern of color created by the leather-bound spines of countless books. Two leather armchairs sit before a central fire pit. The study's domed partial ceiling is ornamented with a mosaic depicting the night sky bejeweled with its heavenly bodies. You also see a wooden stick and a basket of sticks.

You carefully inspect a tall bookshelf.
You estimate that a tall bookshelf can store a large amount with enough space for any number of items.

Anyone know offhand how many food/drink items you can make for these places?

I was allowed 6 for mine although I can't imagine there would have been an argument had I pleaded for 1 or 2 more.
Anyone know the history of this Mesmere Bungalow?

Isn't that Tsin's old property?
Amaron

Nope, I own Tsin's old property: Island Oasis.
It looks nothing like it now though....
I keep forgetting, I will be having an open house sometime between Christmas and New Years so folks who have been asking can see the remodling job I did.

The Mesmere Bungalow is name-able?
When I won it in Plat, I was told it was not renameable. So I presumed Mesmere was not the name of a previous owner.

What's the story behind the dark tower?
Ardwen

Mesmere isnt an owners name, no idea where the name is from though.
Dark Tower was/is Blades home, had been his since opening years ago.
