Alright, so i never realized how cool ball spells splash effects were til today:

You gesture at a night mare.
You hurl a roaring ball of fire at a night mare!
AS: +302 vs DS: +214 with AvD: +57 + d100 roll: +91 = +236
... and hit for 74 points of damage!
Abdomen bursts into flames. Would be funny without the blood.
The night mare is stunned!
The roaring ball of fire strikes a night mare, blossoming into a much larger sphere of flame upon impact.
... 15 points of damage!
Minor burns to back. Looks uncomfortable.

A burst of flame from your roaring ball of fire flies off and hits a night mare.
... 15 points of damage!
Minor burns to left leg. That hurts a bit.

A burst of flame from your roaring ball of fire flies off and hits a shadow mare.
... 15 points of damage!
Misjudged timing.
You barely catch the shadow mare in the back!

A burst of flame from your roaring ball of fire flies off and hits a night mare.
... 20 points of damage!
Minor burns to chest. That hurts a bit.

A burst of flame from your roaring ball of fire flies off and hits a shadow mare.
... 20 points of damage!
Hard strike connects with the shadow mare's back!
A thin arc of mist spews forth, evaporating quickly.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

I now use major fire to hunt mares, instead of minor fire.

Do you really find it to be more useful than say...Cone of Lightning?

The splash effect looks nifty but the damage is pretty much negligible unless it splashes to many targets.

With that many targets, you could just wipe out the room with a cone, so why bother fiddling with fire and tiny amounts of damage?

I find cone 10x more usefull than the splash effect, i just thought it was cool and never realized a splash affect could hit everything in the room til the other day...i never use my ball spells, i always use the stream spells, 906 mainly.
