WoW disconnection issues.

I just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this or something similar.

I'm on high-speed cable. I have three PC's on a wireless network behind a router & cable modem. Playing GemStone, I rarely get disconnected. BUT...as soon as WoW gets started, disconnections from Wow AND GemStone take place about once every hour. Incredibly annoying. I had thought that perhaps it was the third PC (the one with WoW on it) causing the issue, but when I run gemstone or anything else from it, I don't have this problem. The problem is there only when someone is playing WoW.

Any suggestions?

My roomies and I have four computers all connected to a hub and cable modem.

About once a night when we are playing all four of us will get dropped from everything. And we intermittenly lose computers throughout the course of the night.

My lame explanation is that the hub gets confused with all the information and dies. This is not scientifically provable, nor probably right, just my best guess.

In short, I feel your pain, and will offer a bounty of five dollars in the form of a walmart gift card, and a half eaten box of doughnuts if anybody figures out what's freaking doing this and how to fix it.

I'd guess it has something to do with your router's firewall configuration. I had severe disconnection issues when I was playing EQ through a router until I figured out this was my problem. Some of the recent routers are pre-configured for online gaming and will work right away without you having to do anything but if you don't know what else to try, go ahead and try it manually. If it doesn't work, you can easily reverse the changes.

Also, in the technical support search window, type "port forwarding" and some links will come up with the most popular routers. Their illustrated explanations for setting them up are really good. If your router's not on there, try the manufacturer's website to find information on how to do the port forwarding or you could write Blizzard's tech support to see if they can give you a hand.

Dunemaul has terrible lag for some reason, which is weird since it's a low population server. I get less lag on Argent Dawn, which is a high pop server.

And it's not just me, as whenever I experience it, General chat opens up with several people doing their "laaaaaaaaaaag!" bit.
