If you are a new/returning player, please post here so I know who you are and can tally the group up as well.

I was going to put some useful and informative information here but I think all that sort of stuff is easily found elsewhere from smarter people.

What Phantasm means to say is that players and some staff, mostly on the PC, pooled over $2000 to buy some charity auction tweets that might have gotten your attention, and welcome back. Let us know if you need a hand.

So over $1000 was paid per person, and $3000 was collected - so they found 3 people to play for the collected whole? :(

The actual donation total was $2040.

$1025 was paid for Felicia Day, who is cool.

$1015 was paid for Levar Burton, who must hate orphans, because he hasn't invested in the 2 minutes fo do his agreed to tweet after about 2 months.

We might get a refund now of the $1015, in which case we'll have to think of something else to do with it. Buy advertising, or donate it to a worthy cause.

If we decide to buy ads, the banner ads on MudConnector and such are pretty cheap, we could get a few years on there on the low end of their rates (5000 impressions) or nearly a year at the high end (25000)..

/shrug

Sad that he is too good for helping orphans though...

Returned because I have the time now. Just waiting to restore my old me (may be a few months).

We should advertise on WoW's site, or Facebook or something of the sort. Maybe we could get Simu to match it and they could tie in FU advertising with their older games.

I'm not sure how much it costs to advertise on kongregate now that it's owned by Gamestop, but I think the players there would be a good demographic group to target.

Simu isn't going to advertise anywhere. They see it as a money sink instead of an investment.

Facebook can target advertising very specifically. We could do only people who actually play tabletop D&D for instance. Those are the people more likely to play a text game IMO.

This is of course, not as neat as getting Levar Burton to tweet, but since Levar Burton hates black people and refuses to help them... No other option will be as cool.

Back again after 4 years or so for me. I've been playing off and on since the latter stages of the AOL days, so I've been around the block a few times. Tried a few other games here and there but it seems like I always come back to GS eventually. It feels good to be back --though I was hoping monks would have been released by now! The last thing I did before I quit time was fixskills my rogue into an OHE/Brawler, in the hopes of a possible conversion to a monk. (Will that even still be possible? Last I knew Simu was going to allow those with a lot of training in brawling to convert.)

Anyway, enough rambling from me.
