I hunted with my poison ebow as a quarterstaff for a while. The flares still worked, was fun.

Sighting does not function as weighting when FIRING a bow. When swinging it as a THW, I'm thinking it does work as weighting normally does.

Although you can find weighted arrows... there are a few mcw arrows floating around. Would make a nice addition to the dupe quiver.

With +68 AGIDEX bonus, I just realized that I can push my attack time to 5 seconds and my ambush time to 6 seconds with a claid. Useful.

With +68 AGIDEX bonus, I just realized that I can push my attack time to 5 seconds and my ambush time to 6 seconds with a claid. Useful.

I was doing that for a while, but with only 40 ranks of ambush (need to save points for other things) I found it easier to just swing the claid normally.

Rangers actually do really well with THW. I love it. Probably the best character I've ever played, and hands down the most fun.

I absolutely do. I don't have any issue with bolts at all. Then again, I wear heavy armor. Well, heavier.

I will be in 5x MCP brig that is fire/impact/vacuum resistant
currently train as a pure, use 616/635.. but I train in blunts/shield

thinking of switching to 2handed. so yeah, with my extra spell ranks i'll definitely get a bonus to 618 / 625 / 613, and I always hunt with 401 406 414 202 204 207 up, so i'm thinking this could be a viable path for me. only problem is i'm a giant, so the RT might not make it low enough to be worth it. was planning on capping out 600s spells then going for ambush eventually, but i won't make the change if my RT will be too high on ambushes. testing now..

I'm a giant too. She does fine, just make sure your AGI/DEX is high enough.

The Brig is for a better casting hindrance since he is a weed mage, and RT is not based on STR, it is based on AGI/DEX so giantmen actually have one of the worst RT reductions.

pondering a couple options as I approach cap. I'm in shattered, so PVP is definitely an issue.

1. get 150 ranks of ranger for insane CS, dropping down on a lot of physical skills and relying on armor / invisibility for protection

2. 2x CM, ambush, 2handed, hiding, and do claid hits from hiding with massive AS

3. a hybrid build focusing pure at first and then slowly getting those extra physical skills post-cap

That sounds like a lot of fun actually. Post cap goals too adding some more diversity indefinitely.
Yeah lot of fun. I would do that if I had a ranger in prime somewhere near end game.
