This does not seem like a rational decision.I always pick against the Patriots, but this week I think the Lions have a legitimate chance (and thought so before they were up 17-10 at halftime). They've been playing very well this year: lost by 3 to the Eagles, lost by 2 in Green Bay, lost by 3 in OT to the Jets. Throw in the short week, Brady having a hurt foot against the Detroit pass rush, and it's not surprising to see the Patriots strugglING.

Fucking hell, the opening kick of OT, our guy had broke free for the TD, and then RAN INTO HIS OWN BLOCKER AND FELL OVER....result of the drive: punt.

Then, the next drive we had, perfect route, perfect pass, hit him in stride, not a defender's hand to be seen, and Stevie Johnson literally just drops the ball in the endzone. It was perhaps the worst dropped pass I've seen in 10 years. Most people are comparing it to Ronnie Harmon versus the Browns. (see, i.e., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OOWQxv2_M4)

Willington
11-29-2010, 12:46 AM
Dont forget the sack of Ben inches from a safety (In overtime)

~Steeler Fan~

Just wanted add: When we saw that dropped pass our first thought was that dropped pass in the Super Bowl by that Dallas guy against the Steelers

TheEschaton
11-29-2010, 12:53 AM
not to mention that on that sack he fumbled the ball and had it bounce right back into his lap. Jesus fuck.

You guys almost fucked yourselves with the penalties. Harrison is going to get another fine this week.

Willington
11-29-2010, 01:10 AM
I know, what was he thinking hitting a QB in the chest..Even the Swamie on ESPN said that was a legit hit. That ref was grabbing the flag as Haaison was hitting him...If they fine him all hells gonna break lose around here

Refs are on the Steelers hard with the Flags, last week we set a record with 14 flags over 10 this week

TheEschaton
11-29-2010, 01:16 AM
Are you fucking kidding me? There were at least 3 pass interference calls the refs didn't throw the flag on the Steelers for, and Harrison hit him under the chin and led with his helmet, which is clearly stated as an illegal hit.

Anyways, at least we covered the spread and kept the under (60-40 split for the over, 43.5).

-TheE-

Willington
11-29-2010, 01:18 AM
Yep and yep,we saw that in OT.Heath was mugged and the Corner never looked back for the ball...No flag!

The throw flags on us not for us

Thats ok,Steelers`ll tuff it out.Baltimores gonna need all the help they can get next week

TheEschaton
11-29-2010, 01:28 AM
Your one to our 3 (and I admit the one against Miller in OT was a pretty bad non-call).

Oh, and how about the phantom penalty against #23, a player who doesn't exist since we traded Marshawn Lynch to Seattle, for illegal contact that negated the Hines Ward fumble? I still haven't seen a replay of that non-existent penalty.

Or how about the Jairus Byrd strip and fumble which was blown dead even though he was still up and running, and then called a fumble and placed on where he had been running past when the whistle blew?

Fucking hell, thinking about that game makes me irate.

Oh, and Baltimore is gonna smoke you. You've already lost to them, this game is in Baltimore, you got whipped by the Pats, and you almost lost to the third worst team in the league (us).

Willington

In 2004 NE eliminated the steelers from the playoffs. Pitt never defeated NE in 2005, Denver did the steelers went on to win the super bowl. In 2008 NE did not even make the play offs. So I have no idea where you conjured this awsome post season record the steelers supposedly have against the Pats. It simply doesnt exist. Baltimore did eliminate the patriots last year from the post season and took them to over time this year.

Honestly with how decimated they are with injuries Im suprised they can still take the field. Kind of a shame...I love how the sports announcers are starting in with the "Whats wrong with Peyton" stuff already. Its like dude if you had a 98th round draft pick from 1972 gaurding your blind side in the nfl you think you might get a little flinchy?

AnticorRifling
11-29-2010, 02:52 PM
Yeah 2 weeks ago one of the announcers called it spot on when he said the Colts were just a blue and white hospital at this point.

g++

Last night pretty much showed how valuable Addai and Clark are off the stat sheet. That O-Line is like a sieve without them. I mean I have always thought Addai was kind of a sub-par running back but the guy can at least throw a good block.

Latrinsorm
11-29-2010, 02:56 PM
It would be hard to get in on a wildcard, but does anyone really expect Jacksonville to match the Colts the rest of the year, even with an easier schedule? Somehow they could still get in the playoffs, that's crazy.

g++
11-29-2010, 02:58 PM
I still expect the colts to make the playoffs. If Addai gets healthy on time they might even go far.

SHAFT

The Colts should make the playoffs as the 4th seed. I can't imagine Jacksonville winning that division. Having Addai back would be nice, but I think having Collie back is even more important. Their offense is just better when he's playing.

g++
11-29-2010, 04:02 PM
I would normally agree with you but after watching that game last night I dont think even Collie would help without Addai or Clark back. Addai and Clark were holding that offensive line up and with Addai injured its like a double wammy. An already shaky line now has to defend a full on pass rush every single down because there is literally zero threat of a run. The receivers dont even matter until you fix that. No one can run a route in less than 2 seconds which is the clock Peyton is on without Addai in there.

WRoss
11-29-2010, 04:18 PM
I am shocked that Chicago is pulling it together for once. Earlier this season Lovie was worried about a job. Now he has pulled together a team of young talent with very little stardom and made it work. The OL is looking better, but with a little more work they could be an outstanding offensive team. Their defense just needs to keep healthy. Also, if Atlanta keeps this up and gets home field in the playoffs, they could pull it off. Matt Ryan is 20-1 at home. That is damn impressive.

Ben Roethlisberger is obviously better at a number of things than Charlie Batch. The most glaring of which is pass efficiency. Ben tends to carry a 8-10 yard/attempt average with makes him the most efficient quarterback in NFL history while batch is a pedestrian 5ish. Ben also has a 3-1 quarterback touchdown to interception ratio while batch is 1-1. Ben is also better at luring unsuspecting naive young women into bathrooms so he can rub his fat on them and molest them. I could go on but I digress

Its kind of bullshit you fags get the jets and new england at home. Steelers should not even have a home stadium since they insist on exporting their drunken retards to whatever town they happen to be playing in they should have to play all road games in my opinion. The worst part about this Sunday is that if I want to go to a bar after the game ill have to watch 40 year old men fighting each other and pissing themselves while they wave yellow towels around in federal hill. This is whether the steelers win or lose mind you. They do it regardless.

The worst part about this Sunday is that if I want to go to a bar after the game ill have to watch 40 year old men fighting each other and pissing themselves while they wave yellow towels around in federal hill. This is whether the steelers win or lose mind you. They do it regardless.

Just be glad you arent down in Miami when the Jets fans swarm in for Fins games. You want retards come on down. We have them in abundance.

Another diff between Ben and Batch is Ben could start for the Ravens if he was there.

Flacco is in his third year of an ever changing cast of receivers and Ben is in his 8th with the same team and largely same group of guys so its not entirely fair to compare them. I think their comparable its not like Ben is so much better that its mind blowing. He is statistically a slightly better quarterback, thats obvious. Flacco has gotten better every year he has been with us and continues to improve, Bens biggest advantage is his ability to break tackles...which is just weird to even say about a QB. Career wise? Flacco has every chance to be as good or better at QB as Roethlisberger is...hes not quite there yet but hes close enough that the ravens can certainly win Sunday. Straight ability wise I actually think Flacco edges him, Ben cannot throw a sideline route near as well as Flacco which is what alot of our offense runs on so I wouldnt be so sure Ben could replace Flacco in Baltimore.

Really Azz beating you say? How much of a spread would you give us lowly Ravens?

Nah I could make that bet with an actual bookie I know will pay me. Funny how when money comes into it you shift from "WE'R Gonna stomp you bitches' to looking up the actual line though. I thought you might be as stupid as GSPlayer and make a line up. So How much are we betting?

I saw an article on ESPN about how the 4-7 49ers are only 1 game out of first in the NFC West... just... ugh. I checked though, and St. Louis and Seattle play each other, so we're guaranteed that the "champion" will have no more than 10 losses.

Anyway, congrats to Gallows Thief!

I'm excited about the updated stats. I think I'm in first! Yay me!
