First time on here - just came by to reminisce a bit and surprised to see a thread like this. I used to play about 20 years ago when the game first started. The biggest names were people that were only about level 15. Dagmar Istarii comes to mind, Strom, Mendle a bard, Erebor a cleric and a sorc named Magnetron, Talon, Vesitsa.... I cant remember many more. It was Kelfour then and I never made it past level 7 as a ranger if I recall. The game was great then - things like CoL were actually secret and each new level one of the high people attained revealed new abilities/spells that no one had ever seen or knew of before. I do recall a baby dragon holing up in one of the towers too which was pretty amazing back then. I did jump on about 10 years ago and played for a couple of months just to see what was different. Im curious if anyone has heard of any of these people I remember?

Certainly remember Strom and Erebor. There are still a few from Kelfour's kicking around. The sense of mystery has certainly faded, every skill/ability/spell has been discovered hundreds of times over, but if you look, there are still some fun people and fun moments to be had. It's definitely a different game, but it's still a text game from 1990, so the people who stay still appreciate that aspect. Always enjoy hearing from people who were there at the beginning.

Kelfour was what Wehnimer's was called during ICE.

Kelfour's Landing is the old name for Wehnimer's Landing. Erebor Square is named after Erebor, just like several other sections of town are named after older players.

To the poster, jump on it. It's still a lot of fun, and even if other people know "all" the secrets, there's a lot of stuff for an individual to discover.

I dont have any real interest in jumping back in - its just a blast to look back at some of the old aspects. I mean - when you are 13, 14 or whatever age I was then, its amazing how something like GS3 impacts your memories and experiences from that time. Im sure I fell in love for the first time on GS3, got my heart broken in short order and I recall my pride and joy being a Laen Broadsword. Also, I used to make all of my gear an Azure Brocade design because I thought the color Azure was cool...had no idea what color is actually was then. Falchions (sp?) we also all the rage for lower level folks and the coolest weapon I ever saw was a vorpal rapier that Talon owned....good times.

Yeah totally. Actually. No. THOUGH. I can say we probably share something in the way of "bad names chosen at 13 yrs old". Obviously. Also I would say her anger seems to be hmm...misdirected? While mine is quite often consecutively directed and utilized as a (shared) public resource.
