I have 202 ranks in PT, almost 200 ranks in armor, and quite a bit also in two handed weapons and CM, which are most of the primary and secondary redux skills.
Yet I completely don't understand this. Isn't crit padding supposed to RAISE the crit deflator not decrease it? How the heck do I have 37% redux? All these hits are around the same. And just so you know, I assesed the maul, it is not weighted. Its a fusion maul but has no orbs inside. Dex weighting or not, I don't get this. I used to have anywhere from 54-57%.
Just so you know, my armor is full plate, which is somewhat crit padded. Additionally, I used major protection stack on top, which makes my armor exceptionally crit padded for these hits. I just checked the logs and I did use major protection NOT minor, which can screw up results.
have learned one spell. Maybe that nerfed it?

if you're testing redux, I'd suggest no armor, no spells and no other modifiers, and somebody with an off the shelf weapon you know the stats to.
Then test with off-the-shelf armor the same enchant
Then test with your armor.
Maybe there's a problem with your armor.

I don't think its my armor. Michaelous had all types of crazy spells on, everyone you could possibly have and more. Probably some temp ones too. That may have done it...I know the maul he was swinging was off the shelf at this latest EG , no fusion orbs inside. Just a plain 4x maul.

You're not calculating this correctly . In fact, you took the highest crit rank possible and could not have received a fatal critical. You have been excluding redux from the calculations and have not been reducing the raw damage for max crit rank determination.
[1 - (redux factor * 2/3)] * raw damage = reduced damage
I'm going to call the expression [1 - (redux facter * 2/3)] the crit damage factor. Since your redux factor is approximately .550, your crit damage factor is .633

You can continue to use this formula but you'll need a slight modification.
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[(( Endroll - 100) * Damage Factor) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) / Critical Divisor]
You have to reduce the damage factor.
Damage factor * [1 - (redux factor * 2/3)] and we already know that with 55% redux [1 - (redux factor * 2/3)] = .633 so you would end up with
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[((Endroll - 100) * DF * .633) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) / Critical Divisor ]

Can anyone confirm if my calculations for determinig if the padding had an effect are correct?

No! You're using the wrong damage factor for the awl-pike. It's .350 not .450. I've included in this post a way for you to see how much phantom DS the padding is equivalent to when calculating maximum crit ranks, only. I'll give a quick summary now since the calculations may cause your eyes to glaze over :)
For the grimswarm attack quoted below, with your redux factor (.550) and weapon DF (.350):
SWCP armor is equal to 27 extra DS.*
HCP + SWCP is equal to 72.4 additional DS.*
*These DS values will fluctuate inversely with the weapon damage factor.
Just to give you some idea of maximum crit ranks for your character vs non-weighted weapons with varying DFs and 400 endrolls. I'll use both SWCP and SWCP + HCP
Awl-pike: Max crit rank 5 (SWCP)
Awl-pike: Max crit rank 4 (SWCP + HCP)
Maul : Max crit rank 4 (SWCP)
Maul : Max crit rank 3 (SWCP + HCP)
Flamberge: Max crit rank 3 (SWCP)
Flamberge: Max crit rank 2 (SWCP + HCP)
Mattock: Max crit rank 4 (SWCP)

Handaxe: Max crit rank 2 (SWCP + HCP)
Falchion: Max crit rank: 2 (SWCP)

You were a bit unlucky for two reasons. First, that the d100 roll was 98. If it had been 35 to 84 you would have had a max crit rank 3. If the d100 was 34 or less it would have been a max rank 2. Second, that the crit randomized to a rank 4. It could have just as easily randomized to a rank 2 or 3.

Max crit rank w/o redux and padding = 7
Min crit rank w/o redux and padding = 4
The rest of this post explains crit padding's phantom damage reduction and its relationship to the endroll and DS in determining the maximum critical rank. Because of crit randomization you won't always be able to determine if the padding reduced the critical rank, but it will always have the potential to reduce it.
With a weapon damage factor of .350 and your redux factor ~.550, the 6 pts of crit padding is equal to approximately 27 endroll points. The padding's value is the same as adding those 27 points to your DS, increasing it from 214 to 241. You can determine the DS value of the somewhat crit padding using the weapon's DF with this formula:
DS = 6 / (DF * .633)
Note: It doesn't matter whether you add this value to your DS or subtract it from the endroll. It is easier to subtract it from the endroll when calculating the maximum critical rank.
Since the padding is equal to 27 phantom DS, it is also like going from 5x unpadded armor to slightly more than 10x unpadded armor. This is specific to your character and the .350 damage factor.
Maximum critical rank calculation using the reduced endroll. (337 - 27 DS) = 310 endroll (210 success margin)
(210 * .350 * .633) = 46.5 / 11 = 4
This is the same result (46.5) as the first calculation above where the 6 pts of padding was subtracted from the reduced raw damage.
(237 * .350 * .633) - 6 = 46.5
How much phantom DS would those 6 pts. of padding be worth if the weapon DF was .200?
DS = 6 / (.200 * .633)
DS = 6/ .127
DS = 47 phantom DS
With 16 pts. of padding (HCP + SWCP)
DS = 16 / (.200 * .633)
DS = 16 / .127
DS = 126 phantom DS
In other words, with a weapon DF of .200, the 16 pts. of padding are equal to a 126 point reduction of the endroll.

So I've not been including the crit damage factor, right?

Not the crit damage factor (.633) which is unique to your character, but the correct weapon damage factor of .350 (awl-pike vs plate) in these calculations. Except for the wrong weapon damage factor you did it correctly. The crit damage factor is a term I made up that is relative to your redux factor. Anyone who knows their redux factor can compute their own crit damage factor with this formula:
Crit damage factor = 1 - (redux factor * 2/3)
and use it in the equation for determining the max critical rank.
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[((Endroll - 100) * Weapon DF * Crit DF) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) /Armor Critical Divisor ]
Trunc [( 337 - 100) * .450 * .633) - 6/11
Trunc [(237) * .450 * .633) - 6/11
Result (truncuated): Max crit rank with padding 5
It should be:
trunc [ (( 337 -100) * .350 * .633) - 6) / 11
trunc (( 237 * .350 * .633) - 6) /11
trunc ( 52.5 - 6 ) / 11
trunc ( 46.5 / 11 ) = Max crit rank with padding: 4

Ok then. Is this correct Riltus?
A Grimswarm orc hunter swings a war mattock at you!
AS: +346 vs DS: +98 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +61 = +344
... and hits for 31 points of damage!
Blow leaves an imprint on your chest!
Note: How the heck did I take a rank 1? The calculations show rank 2 as minimum with padding.
57.004%
244 * .275 = 67.1
Crit dmg = 5
= 72.1
1 - (31/72.1)
Crit damage factor = 1 - (.57 * 2/3) = .62 for this hit
Maximum crit rank with padding and redux:
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[((Endroll - 100) * Weapon DF * Crit DF) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) /Armor Critical Divisor ]
M = Trunc[(41.602 - 6 + (0))/11]
M = 3
Minimum with padding and redux:
M = 2 (round up)
Maximum crit rank with no padding but with redux:
41.602/11 (Right?)
Max = 3 Also
Min = 2
Here are the other hits:
A Grimswarm orc barbarian thrusts with a lance at you!
AS: +321 vs DS: +170 with AvD: +32 + d100 roll: +95 = +278

Crit dmg = 10
Theortical dmg = 72.3

I also calculated for fun the awl pike with no padding at 400 end roll. Is this right?
Awl-pike at 400 end roll =
With SWCP and redux: Max 5
Min: 3
No padding:
Where M = max crit rank
Max: 6
Min: 3
I used this formula:
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[((Endroll - 100) * Weapon DF * Crit DF) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) /Armor Critical Divisor ]
M = Trunc[((300) * .35 * .63) - (0) + (0))/11)]
M = Trunc[66.15/11]
M = Trunc[6.01363636..]
M = 6

Riltus, are you there? Calculations correct this time or no?

No.
You are changing the crit damage factor of .633 for each attack. Don't do that. It is a non-variable (meaning it doesn't change). It will only change if you increase your redux skill points and/or level. It is based on the average redux factor for all attacks. It is currently calculated based on your average redux factor of approximately .550 .

Note: How the heck did I take a rank 1? The calculations show rank 2 as minimum with padding.
The reason, I suspect, that this attack resulted in a rank 1 crit is that there was additional padding not included in the calculation. This unaccounted for padding is most likely the result of your CON bonus unless you had Sigil of Major Bane active. We know that the constitution bonus provides critical padding believed to be trunc(Con bonus/4). What we don't know is how much of that padding combines with crit padded armor.
Maximum Critical Rank = Trunc[((Endroll - 100) * Weapon DF * Crit DF) - Padding Points + Weapon Weighting ) /Armor Critical Divisor ]
[(244 * .275 * .633) - 6 (SWCP) - X (CON padding)] / 11
In order to have a rank 1 outcome the reduced damage must be less than 33 which means that there is at least 4 pts. of unaccounted for padding.
M = trunc[(244 * .275 * .633) - 6 - 4)] / 11 = 32.4 /11 = 2

So according to my calcuations at a 400 end roll to the head with an awl pike redux/withotu padding and with, it made no difference? I know it may have made a difference, never know for sure, but I got 6/3 in both instances.

The result with padding is 5/3 and 6/3 without.
MCR w/padding = Trunc[((300) * .35 * .633) - (6) + (0))/11)] = (60 / 11) = 5
Max: 5
Min: 3
MCR w/o padding = trunc[((300) * .35 * .633) - (0) + (0))/11)] = (66 / 11) = 6
Max: 6
