So I just came back to the game after a few years and discovered this when I died...
I drop my shield and weapon...
So what's the deal with this feature? Are the items gonna disappear since I can't seem to get them?
Anyone have a post for this feature?

Droppage only occurs in Platinum.

Were you itchy cursed? (You scratch madly, etc.)

I don't know...was fighting in Bonespear for the first time...computer locked up (completely) rebooted...came back, I was on the ground, stunned and my equipment was not in my hand...then I was killed with it lying there...
Dybbuk took my shield and ran off and then went my mace.
Great way to come back and start a first hunt after a two year break

You were disarmed before you died. The first post was deceiving.
Great way to come back and start a first hunt after a two year breakYou should start where you're familiar with, not a new place where you didn't realize had disarming creatures.

so basically they're gone forever, eh?
I guess since I've been gone forever, I wasn't really familiar with any place...I looked on a map...so creatures around my level...made sense to hunt there.
Didn't expect computer to lock up either though...so that sort've sucked.
I'll have to assist about this...

Someone might have grabbed them, so put a post in the lost and found folder in the Marketplace parent folder on the officials, and yes, assist. They *might* give you a one-time only replacement.

Eidolons cast itchy curse so that could be what got him.

Weapon AND Shield could be sheer fear from high spawn Eidolons.

Most of the GMs are pretty understanding. Being a returning player, they might be more inclined to help you.

It was really funny considering I started to be like..."uhm...what the heck just happened here?"

I was in RR and had my nice weapon disarmed, it ran off, and when I followed the mob had despawned. I searched for a long time, it never came back. A GM ended up being nice enough to replace it for me, with a warning that it was a one-time thing. If your items were registered, you may get so lucky too.
My recommendation, don't hunt things that disarm =)

I totally agree with this...I just wish I knew it disarmed...are there any places to see a list of creatures and what they're attacks do?
Again, being newly back after a two (it might actually be three) year hiatus, I haven't a clue what any of these guys do, I just went by their general level number from Tsoran's maps.
What did you hunt two years ago? Hunt that.
Nothing's really changed in 2 years.

Any chance you could use ... to hunt since you seem to have a thing for ... it would probably protect ... you ... just ... sayin.

Heh, yeah I use the ellipse a lot when I'm flustered. It's normally an under-utilized form of written expression.

Just don't use it to death every other post and it will continue to live on!

I can help you out with a weapon and shield should you not get them returned. Not saying they'll be top of the line but I can help.
Also, it never hurts to ask on the Amunet or Lnet (if you've gotten lich) about what creatures do what. Chances are someone knows...and you can ask to be rescued after you've died on the lnet.
Seriously, look into it.

Heh, yeah I use the ellipse a lot when I'm flustered. It's normally an under-utilized form of written expression.
The only proper use of dots of ellipsis is to indicate an intentionally truncated statement, as with a shortened quote: "Mr. HighandMighty commented, 'I just don't see how ... we're going to get out of this situation'" instead of "Mr. HighandMighty commented, 'I just don't see how, given the complex circumstances and the fact that Mrs. HighandMighty hates me since I refused to buy her a kitten, we're going to get out of this situation.'" Like the em-dash (--), though, people tend to use it as a catch-all instead of the proper punctuation.
In any case, good luck with your gear.
