View Full Version : enchanting armor
Ok my wizard is ready to try his first enchant. I am gonna try to enchant some armor. I had read somewhere that armor required 2 pours per cast. Is this correct? If so then what is the process, pour wait till it says its ready then do another pour the wait again then cast?
Any clarification of the process would be appreciated. Thank you.

The amount of individual "pours" is sole determined by the enchant. 1 pour per enchant.
What you are thinking of is doses out of the potion. Armor takes 2 doses, which are automatically consumed each pour.
So if your potion has 5 doses in it, pouring it on a weapon would bring it to 4. But pouring it on armor would bring it to 3 remaining.
long story short: you don't have to do anything special.

Just follow that guide and you shouldn't have any problems. If you just learned 925 the best you can really do is up to 4x. I believe enchanting armor is slightly easier than weapons.
The most common cause of failures is user error. If you have a familar make sure its with you. Make sure you are not encumbered. I do everything in a workshop. Cast 405 after tempering to make sure it is ready before you cast 925 on it.

For clarification on your question, just as Donquix mentioned, the number of pours is solely determined by the enchant.
Taking armor from 0 to 1x will only require one pour. Pour, wait until its ready, and cast.
Taking armor from 2x to 3X will require three pours. Pour, wait, cast - repeat two more times.

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been true for years. Everything takes one dose.

It's one dose.
meas my pot
The rohnuru potion has 1 dose left.
>pour my potion on my light leather You pour your potion on the leather. 1d100: 86 + Modifiers: 232 == 318
As the liquid coats the surface of the light leather, a misty aura fills the air surrounding it, dancing around your fingers as you gesture over it with a soft incantation spilling from your lips. Small runic symbols flare to life at various points along the surface of the leather, their blurry edges wavering in response to the cadence of your voice and the liquid in these areas absorbing quickly beneath the surface. When the last of the liquid has vanished, the symbols dissipate and the leather appears faded. You scrutinize the light leather, notice nothing amiss, and conclude that the tempering seems to have been successful. You estimate that the light leather should be ready to enchant in about 1 to 2 days.
Roundtime: 20 sec.
That was the last drop.
The rohnuru potion shatters into twinkling dust.

Ahh you're right. I forgot they got rid of that. Was just kind of thinking that's what the OP was referring to.
