So who has it? Who's played it? How is it?
I have to wait until after the raid tonight to play it.
P.s Add me on PS3 --- Alfster27
Only played campaign mode so far. Its pretty cool. This time it is set in the 50s-60s. Don’t want to drop any spoilers but some notable people from that period get involved in the story.
Have not tried multiplayer or zombie modes yet. Breaking for dinner.

Ill probably skip most of the campaign and go straight to the multiplayer.
I have never like multiplayer fps. I'm a freak.

I just hate Multiplayer Console gaming, though I finally broke down and got an Xbox. I have yet to try it online since I still need to practice using a controller to move and aim with my thumb, as opposed to a keyboard and mouse for much more control and precision....At least in my opinion.
Other than that, I think Console gaming online is kind of taking over the whole PC bit, given that alot of MMOs now are doing the cross platform stuff.
Now all we need to do is to get Microsoft to finally freaking make a 360 compatible keyboard and mouse and alot of people will be very happy....You figured they would, now that Google TV's and shit are out too...Ooy

Yup. You figured it would just be bank for them. Maybe they need to learn how Simu manages to make money off of everything they just about do, and go from there lol
Over 700k people on and I can’t get into a multiplayer game that does not disco within seconds. Been trying to play for 10 minutes now without success.
Ok. this is cool. If you hit L2 and R2 on PS3 enough times at the menu screen you can get out of the chair. Walk around and you can access a computer thats behind you. Accessed a few files so far but have not figured out anything more than that.

I haven't had any real problems with the multiplayer yet.
I'm bad, but not as bad as I was at mw2 when i first started.
Dude. So not only is it awesome like World at War but now its triple awesome. The money system adds a little gambling to it. You buy your upgrades allowing for more honed customization.
But what really blows my mind is that all your games are saved and you can move them into a movie mode to watch replays. Not only that but you can watch the replay in first person, third person or full 360 view! Un-fucking-believable.

It still doesn't work right, not like a "real" mouse anyway.
Instead the mouse just emulates the analog sticks, which means that small dead zone is still there, which in a nutshell fucks everything up for anything that requires precision like a FPS.
I really wish today's consoles would offer true mouse support. I've had to buy so many FPS games on PC solely for that reason, when I would have much preferred to buy the PS3 version since that's what most of my friends play on.
Playing a FPS with analog sticks totally ruins it for me.
To be fair to the controller users.
Mouse keyboarders would blow them away.
That'd be a pretty gay reason, because:
A) What's stopping controller users from switching to a mouse and getting even better?
B) Sony/Microsoft is pretty much forcing a chunk of people who would otherwise buy the game into buying the PC version instead of their console.
That said, I've seen videos of controller users that if I didn't know better, I'd think they were using a mouse.
I'm still undecided on picking this game up. The thing that ruined MW2 for me was not being able to choose your map on multiplayer and having to play whatever random map the game gives you. I like the smaller more chaotic maps like Terminal and Rust, but I would always get gigantic maps like Estate where everybody just camps with a sniper rifle the whole time.
Does Black Ops fix any of that gayness, or do the bigger maps not suck dick sweat at least? Everything else about the game sounds pretty awesome.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood....Harlequinn Costume.....Multiplayer....Pure Awesomeness Assassin kills.... 'nuff said.
If I want to play a true FPS, I'd just probably stick with Halo Reach myself for now since I'm still adjusting. But I loved the Assassin's Creed series and I'm excited for the new title to come out this coming week.
And as a side note. I just saw Metal Gear Solid is now coming to the Xbox, so I'm very pleased right now since that game was only the real reason I stuck with Sony for a while.
Since the Xbox is better Multiplayer, I picked it up instead of another PS3 and I'm glad I did now.

And I agree, they are excluding me from consoles because I want to use a mouse+keyboard with their system. Unless there's some adapter thinger i'm not aware of.

I used to play Doom on PC with just a keyboard. I'd school everyone until someone with a mouse/keyboard showed up, then I got destroyed.
Instead of QQing for them to remove mouse support to make things "fair" to us keyboard users that were getting pwned, I switched to mouse/keyboard, dealt with a bit of frustration until I got used to it, then started pwning 7802784023x more than I ever did with just a keyboard.

Your logic is backward in this case. Consoles are based around the controller, so mouse/keyboard people need to adapt to the controller, or don't try to make things fair by demanding a mouse/keyboard combo.

How is his logic backwards?
First of all, most console games are based around the PC.
1. Many PC gamers would like to play consoles, but do not like the controls. It would open up the market to more people if they included mouse / keyboard controls.
2. Console gamers would get owned by keyboard/mouse people if they supported it.
So, he's saying if that's their reasoning behind not supporting it, its dumb, because they are just as capable of learning how to use the mouse and keyboard which is a better interface anyways.

Faster aiming == faster killing. The end.

10 years ago, sure. Today? Incorrect. And here is why:

Besides, a lot of these games DO support mouse/keyboard combo. Only problem is that all they do is emulate analog controls which makes the mouse still suck due to the dead zone, and I'm guessing that "true" mouse support can't be added in via firmware and would have to be hardware based, but I have nothing to base that on. If that's the case, I'll bet you $4732047 that the next generation of consoles will come with true mouse support.

I honestly don’t know why they don’t already. Sony is really dropping the ball with PS3 as a home media system. They got the gaming and online content right but it sucks as a web browser/media share system. Right now I have my laptop pugged into my HD so I can browse while I take breaks from CoD and am able to flip to Comedy Central for the Daily Show. Its awesome but there are too many wires and the PS3 should be able to do all of that without any wires or cable box or laptop. If Sony was smart PS4 will do all of that AND include mouse/keyboard support for their games.

There's no cursor on the screen that you move around to different parts of the screen as if you were playing King's Quest, hence it's not point and click the way you describe.

I prefer controllers better for most games too, just not for shooters. Mainly because of the dead zone with analog sticks, but for other reasons too such as:
- Most console shooters' turning mechanics start you out turning realllllly slow for the first half second or so, then it starts turning faster (though still nowhere near as fast as a mouse), which combined with the dead zone, is annoying as fuck. I'd like analog controls a lot better if there were a way to disable that "feature" and have a consistent turning speed instead of a gradually increasing one.
- I like being able to do instant 180/360 turns as opposed to the slow tank like turning you get with analog sticks that make me feel like I'm playing MechWarrior. If you're getting shot from behind, you're fucked 100% of the time with analog controls unless the person is extremely bad at aiming, which has nothing to do with skill on your part.
I just think using a mouse is too easy.
Does this mean that you'd prefer to play a game like Street Fighter using a keyboard, because playing on a controller would be too easy to pull off that dragonpunch -> EX focus cancel -> forward dash -> 18 hit ultra combo finish juggle? Or perhaps you only use the weakest pistol or the knife when playing shooters, because using an assault rifle would be too easy? Or maybe you play with your feet instead of your hands for the extra challenge?
Besides, it's possible to have the best of both anyway...my setup consists of a keyboard tray that I ripped out of my old desk, sitting on my lap with my keyboard/mouse on said tray, all while lounging back on the comfort of my couch with a cold beer. It's great pwnage. I'm way overdue to flip this couch cushion and reset the ass grooves.

It looks like a cartoon compared to MW2. I don't know, mabye I didn't give it a fair shot but if I wanted to play a game that looked like WaW I would have kept playing WaW. They took all the gay bullshit out from MW2 -- were you the type who ran around with lightweight, marathon and commando just so you could knife someone from across the room? Or did you rock scavenger so you could keep replenishing your noob tube? The game actually forces you to aim a gun at someone to kill them, I think it's better.

My problem is that I couldn't get past the damn graphics. There is a possibility I'll give it a second shot just because of how awesome that replay camera is. You can save those to your harddrive I am guessing right? And I played so many different styles in MW2 it was ridicilous, I had one class set up for every situation ie. lightweight/marathon/ninja with my silencer etc..for getting to campers, one class for noob tubing if the other team had us pinned, one class with a sniper rifle etc..I was super diverse which is the only way I believe to get really good.
Level 32 rocking the FN FAL red dot assault rifle with CZ75 enhanced iron sights, tomahawk, Willey Pete, C4, Ghost Pro, Slight of Hand Pro, and Ninja.

It's been less than three weeks since Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops" went on sale. The game quickly broke entertainment sales records, with worldwide revenue of US$650 million during its first five days in stores. The game's online component is wildly popular, with hundreds of thousands of players simultaneously logged in to battle each other, and is creating some big numbers of its own.
On Saturday an in-game counter noted that the cumulative number of kills in the game has surpassed the planet's real-world population, which stands at about 6.9 billion, according to a U.S. Census Bureau estimate.
Those deaths were largely as a result of gun shots. An amazing 138 billion shots have been fired in the game, and a disturbing -- or successful, depending on your point of view -- 561 million have been instant-killing headshots. About 51 million headshots have been delivered execution-style, while a player was alive but lying wounded.
While guns rule the "Call of Duty" universe, there are also many other ways to kill opposing players.
Frag grenades are a popular tool of destruction and 527,936 tons of them have been thrown so far, along with 50,782 tons of C4 plastic explosive. To put those numbers in perspective, the Eiffel Tower's all-iron structure weighs 10,000 tons.
Some other stats:
If all the crossbows fired in the game were lined up end-to-end they'd stretch 144,501 miles, which is more than half of the way to the moon.
More than 65 million deaths came as the result of a player's own mistake.
Players have collectively fallen the equivalent height of Mount Everest 828,118 times.
Staying too long in one position has proved deadly for 79 million players who were stabbed in the back.
In-game spending has reached the equivalent of 233 percent of the GDP (gross domestic product) of Ireland in U.S. dollars.
Racking up such death and destruction has been a workout for in-game characters, even if their real-life controllers haven't left their armchairs. Players have collectively run around the world 14,837 times, according to the in-game counters.
And if all that isn't impressive enough, consider this: gamers have cumulatively spent more than 8,000 years playing "Call of Duty: Black Ops" online.

Yeah, some of those tidbits are amusing.
Finished Warlord Pro (easy) and finally got Ninja Pro (not so easy but not too hard). So now my main in Ghost Pro, Slight of Hand Pro and Ninja Pro using assault rifle with Red Dot sights customized to a yellow dot bar, the tomahawk (got a bank shot with this the other night), flash and claymore.
Mainly doing Ground War, Demolition and TDM.
I’m on wireless and I realize that it is not optimal for on line play. When I lose a face off and see the other person’s perspective I can see that I am lagging slightly. Sometimes I will get a great connection and it almost feels like cheating... almost.
I’ve seen some really creative playercards out there. Right now I am all medieval with a gold crown over crossed orange hatchets. Someone last night had two guys double teaming a gorilla. And another made a Kenny.
This game is too fun.

I'm finding myself suddenly growing bored with this game lately.
Same thing happened with MW2 after about the same amount of time. :(

My only complaint is the maps are kinda small. Small and porous. Too many ways to get from one side to the other which isn’t far. I feel like World at War had huge maps comparatively and it took me longer to learn them than these.
Honestly I am sick of Launch already.

I usually like the smaller maps, especially on this game since it seems like people do nothing but camp on the bigger maps.
They camp all over the small maps too, but it's not nearly as effective.
Someone needs to release a good run 'n' gun Quake type game instead of all these retarded campfests that keep coming out.

The new Goldeneye on the Wii has maps small enough that you can't really camp if someone knows the map.
BO is the first one released since MW2... so you're probably right, you didn't play any in between.
meant to say i have NEVER played any CoD until BO and have since played all the others after beating BO...
If you want to improve connection speed open up your router and port forward...
TPC: 27014-27050
UDP: 3478-4380
UDP: 27000-27030
Both: 3074
Just did it and I can see a noticable difference. Of course, its not godmode, but keeps you on the cutting edge with other players who do it.

Surprised theres a 3 page thread with no mention of the multiplayer zombie section of the game. I have had the new CoD for a few weeks and the multiplayer was alright. I think Im sporting around a 1.5 k/d at prestige level 3(mostly TDM and Domination). A friend told me there was another part of online play where you kill waves of zombies, I tried it and I doubt ill play the regular multiplayer again.
If any of you want to team up and kill some motherfucking zombies let me know. Xbox360 - Anebr1ated
Level 50 rocking the FN rifle with ghost, slight and ninja pro.
PS. A little Stakeout also.

I went prestige a couple of days ago... and I have to admit, other than the new playercard unlocks, is it really worth it? Its like starting over and I guess it kinda makes you focus more on what you know but
On PS3 I decided to just start playing on my other account so my kill rate and accuracy are higher and because I know how to pro my perks. The Olympia isn’t bad compared to the Stakeout and the Enfield will do until I can unlock the FAL.
Commando? Really? FAL all the way, or the Famas.

The Commando is top titty... I use the Galil or AK74u until I can get it

The AK74u is the number 1 weapon that kills me most. Now I am curious and I hope everyone who reads this is too...
Check your playercard > combat record > weapons > times killed by. I am showing in order AK74u, Famas, Galil, AK47 and AUG.
Is that the same for everyone?

Damn 35 is awesome, which zombie level? got to 24 in "five" and 22 or 23 in Kino der Toten -- it starts to get nuts around 20 i think

Kino der Toten. Five isnt bad but I dont enjoy it. Ascension is the same way. I like the rythym I can get into on Kino. My friend and I hadnt played in awhile and decided wed give it a shot again the other day. The two guys we got paired up with left around the 13th level cause they kept dieing and we stopping caring about them. 2 hours later we pretty much got ourselves killed at level 35 cause we got bored.
