I just love it when patience pays off.

I got a late start to Shattered, so I'm quite a few levels behind the pack. While I was in my first 30-days I got killed quite a bit by the Marlu gang and Katze cost me a few hours of learning as well.

This morning I awoke to find myself dead from my overnight hunting and I had decayed. To my amazement, I was laying in the middle of a HUGE box hoard in the RR.

What to do, what to do? Well, I could just take a box here and there, stay under the radar and see how long I can keep it up. OR, I can try and go for the gold and take the whole hoard. I went with option two.

Making trips to the locksmith and back with my max-deepened pack I managed to make over 250k in silvers and gems before he woke up. There are several pieces of jewelery that I need to have sung to before I sell as well. Once I have a full tally of what I made away with I'll post it here. The real fun part was that even after he realized what was going on, he could not stop me. He killed me a couple of times, but I decayed and showed up back in the middle of the box pile, loaded up and started dumping at a table. Once I tally the log after opening everything I'll post what the take was.

The silver is not the point though. The point is what goes around comes around. Katze cost me a good bit of exp during my first 30-days. Now, I've cost him exp, silver and Lock Mastery reps.

How does it feel? Well, pretty damn good on my end.

Now he is threatening to kill me ad infinitum for daring to take his stuff. His stuff that was on the ground out in the open. Yeah, you can kill me over and over Katze, but why don't you just man up and take your lumps?

The teller nods to the debt collector and makes several marks in the log books before turning to her next customer.

Katze stretches.

Katze kicks some dirt on your corpse.

You give a ghostly chuckle.

You ask, "This is going to be fun...no?"

I think you are mistaking what I said. I don't have 3 current characters above your level. What I meant was that when I rerolled I was able to catch up to you 3 times and even surpass you...the point being that your threats about keeping someone from leveling is really all bark and no bite.

No spells, signs, standard 4x weapon, slighted a bit of cmans for lockpicking, there comes a price with being able to pick high end boxes, Eku. Also I'm not 80+ I'm fixing to be 80 if it matters. only getting to single in cmans has a certain downside, but I've never really needed more. Sacrifices for bow/locksmithing, my good man, sacrifices!

I'm a bow user and at 80 I had a 360ish AS while using 102 (-30AS) and regular ole' 4x stuff. Without 102 and using fletched arrows it was 415.

Just so we are clear...I never received nor asked for a single silver of "extortion" money while in Marlu. Yeah ok I left my boxes out in the open, no one should be stupid enough to steal from me, we'll see how this goes over the next coming weeks. I am still constantly learning in warcamps and mastery of guild skills. Let's see how many levels Taeguk gains vs me.

You have a valid point, he probably isn't worth the time and the effort to hunt down. he was a whole 6 hours maybe worth of box hunting, to begin with. Since I'm nearly 30 levels over the critters, I highly doubt he got anything good, thanks to the treasure system. I guess I will just end up moving to a table. Already killed him a few times anyway. Suppose the little bit of coin he got was worth it to him, apparantly it still is. On a side note Darkwing and Dexbot, whom I inscribed today, put my inscriptions over 400! Woot!

Yay!? You've gotten a whole 2 characters past me for a month and a half. Unless you are a tablepuff or rez cleric or a TSC healer that never leaves the sanct. I doubt you will get to 100 before I kill you. Especially with the number of people I have not inscribed dwindling to less than 20 at any given time. No, I asked for my share of the box money, for the boxes Kaseopea and I provided for Dart's lock mastery venture or whatever. I said I would COLLECT extortion money, but hell I never did that either.
