Does anyone have a link to a good read on enhancives?

I'm a little behind the times on the knowledge base when it comes to enhancives.

One of my biggest questions is.. What happens when the charges run out? Obviously the bonuses stop, but is there a way to recharge the item?

Thanks for any help on this. Enhancives started during a time where I was out of the realms and I never really got into researching this. I guess at first sight I thought to myself, "Why would I want to pay all the extra coin for something that will eventually lose the enhancives?"

Thanks for any help on this. :)

Enhancives can be crumbly or noncrumbly. Gear (armor, weapons, armor accessories) is always noncrumbly. Jewelry is usually crumbly, but can be noncrumbly if you're lucky.

Held enhancives (weapons/shields) have a chance to lose a charge when gotten using the GET verb (or it's aliases such as "gird"). And also approximately once every 10 minutes while held. There is no chance for losing a charge for PUT, or STOW, or SWAP, etc. Only "GET"

Worn enhancives (jewelry, armor) have a chance to lose a charge when worn using the WEAR verb only. Not the REMOVE verb, or GET or any other verb. You can handle them all day and they won't lose a charge unless you WEAR them. Then also every approximately 10 minutes while worn.

As such, you should remove enhancives when not in use (between hunts) to maximize life.

The adventurer's guild recharges enhancives, go to the treasure room, hold it in your right hand, and order 5.

With noncrumbly ones you can wait until they are empty, with crumbly ones, doing so is not advisable for obvious reasons.

Crumbly's are cheaper to charge.

Crumbly's are cheaper to charge.

Does the cost for recharging also vary by the type of enhancment (more for +6 than a +3) or the item its on?

A higher bonus to the same skill/stat will cost more BP to recharge, i.e. a +6 STR will be more than a +3 STR.

Some skills/stats are more expensive to recharge.

Worn location will effect the cost, with pinworns being the most expensive to recharge and held items (Like your weapon and/or shield) costing the least to enhance.

*I'm fairly certain this is all accurate, but I could be wrong. Someone will likely be along to correct me if I am.

Also, ranks tend to cost more to recharge than bonus, all else being equal.

For example, two (otherwise) identical items - one +10 survival ranks and the other +10 survival bonus - will differ in recharge cost, the "ranks" one being more expensive.

If you look at the stats INT, LOG, and INF are the cheapest.

INF should be the cheapest since it doesn't do anything :(
