It sucks that I alternate working Saturday morning from 6-3, however, the benefits are quite nice.

6-6:45 Did nothing, waited for merchandise truck to bring freight.

6:45-7 Unload truck.

7:05-7:45 Did donuts in recieving area full swing w/ electric forklift.

7:45-8 Ate breakfast.

8-9 Tossed furniture & other huge stuff. Half the freight done in 10 minutes.

9:15-11 Twiddled thumbs doing "customer service".

11-12 Watched Yu-Gi-Oh and read the boards.

12-1:15 Lunch

1:15-3 Twiddled thumbs.

I love easy days like today. Anyone have a job they don't feel like they even work?

Discuss why you love your job < sometimes >.

I'm at work now. I logged out of GS like an hour ago cos I got bored. After I get out, I'm heading straight to the club to meet up with my friends for some cocktails and then some. The only thing that sucks about this job is that it's 3PM - 12AM thurs. - sat. Those are my party days. But, my 9 - 5 sucks ass, I work with Dr's whom can be big babies.

When I used to work for my cousin, my day went something like...

Start OS load on a computer
Play GS
More OS loading
Play GS
Find Drivers, run update
Play GS
Start all over again on another computer.

10/hr for mostly playing GS wasn't bad.

I love my job. I can't play GS there, but sometimes if it's not too busy I can respond to text messages on my cell.

I get to get people fired and busted. It totally strokes my ego, I'll admit it. Plus it's FUN and I see something new just about every night. The hours are kind of harsh (4pm-2am) but it's Monday-Thursday so it's not like I'll ever complain about not having weekends off!

I had a job in college, where I was the AV tech nerd geek guy.

Basically, if any of your equipment broke down, you called me in a huff, and I came and troubleshot. I also set up video-conferencing and all the fancy shit.

Basically, I sat on my ass all day watching CNN, the Sopranos (on the AV Mac G4 laptop) whatever was on TV. Once, I was running a conference on a Sunday, half the conference was in my office cause I was watching the Pats game.

I posted a new thread about what I hate being a boss. Being a pissed off mood because of my lost vacation. Now this is what I love.

I love the restaurant when the food is coming out great and people are loving us. I love the compliments that I get every day for my food, I really love cooking for people and the immediate praise. I love working with people who are sweet and get along, which most of my employee's do and have become friends. I love working with my family, all my kids work for us and we spend alot of time together and thats great. My sister-in-law, her Mom and my neice also work for us and I just love them. I love that my friends pop in on a regular basis and I can sit, have coffee and chat with them.
I love taking a problem and working it out, I'm good at mediation, when everyone walks away feeling happy, it makes my day. I love that a lot of our customers have become our friends, and I've seen the kindness in people. We have had customers give of themselves and their money, for no reason at all except to help. We had a employee who had a cancer scare a few months ago, she had no insurance and before they would do the tests she needed, she had to have 2k, within three days, the customers put up the money for her.

I own my own business...well...two, technically. I have three other partners SO I mostly get to work from home and I can play GS...you know, hunt and stuff and do paperwork and all of that while I'm resting. When I'm actually at my store, I do tend to have more to do...but I'm only really ever there 4 or at the most 5 hours at a time.

I love being the boss too. :-)

I like that I never have to work weekends or past 5 o'clock at night, and that I get paid mad bucks. And that I start tomorrow.

We'll see if there's any other redeeming qualities, like AIM or the boards. I'm hoping once I get through training and get my own desk I'll be ab le to use AIM.

omg, that would be like... they couldn't pay me to quit.

When I was a medic working night shift, I went over 3, yes 3 months without a call. Living in the boonies like I did or now does has it's advantages.

We did shit like play hide and go seek all night through out the station. Not to mention doing other stupid things like call psychic hotlines and tell them that they are the psychics, they should know my Visa card number. Or washing and waxing my vehicle all night long.

Hell, in the winter, we'd do doughnuts in our personal vehicles and on the snow in the grocery store parking lots then we would build bon fires and go sleigh riding with the bored ass deputies and city police. In the summer, we had the keys to the town pool and we'd go swimming. In two minutes, I could change from trunks to my uniform and throw a hat on then be on our merry way.

There was only two ways that job could have been better:

1. If they allowed drinking beer on the job and

2. No one got sick or injured which required me to go save them.

At times, I miss that job.

*caught an obvious typo, my sunday night ritual is in full swing*
