Gah, that sucks so bad.

04-17-2004, 10:49 PM
Shit. No kidding?

The "head" in Hammerrhead screws up the most popular empath healing script all the time. I don't advice names ending in the word head, arm, leg, eye, chest, abdomen, or nerve???

Heh. I would think it would have been much easier to heal you the old-fashioned way...WITHOUT using a script.

I really did mean that I appreciated the help I just felt bad for everyone in TSC who had to watch it.

I am sure you appreciated being healed, but I do not understand why there was all that scroll produced to heal four wounds. That is the kind of thing produced by people who script-heal and never learn to heal without the script. It's sad, really. :(

Yikes and a half. Thats why I heal the old fashioned way. She's healed my other characters lots of times as well, and that definitely never happened.

I use a healing script, and if I see my transfer fail more then once (one, given that I need to take blood), I'll stop it and look at the person. In a busy place a script is often helpful. My script does the same thing hers did if I left it unattended. Something in your inventory or description has tripped up the macro into thinking there's something else to take.

Heh. There WAS something else to take. His back wound.

Oh, I agree, but the script looks for certain parts/words in a certain order. So he may have had the word "chest" in his inventory/description. So it would keep seeing "chest", and try to take the chest over and over, and never get to the back.

HarmNone

So, in essence, what we are saying here is that she left a script running unattended that cannot discern between the wounded chest of the victim, and the chest the victim is holding in his hand, eh? Nice...but, STUPID!

What screwed it up?

You have old battle scars on your right arm, old battle scars on your left arm, old battle scars on your right leg, old battle scars on your right hand, and a mangled left hand.

She has her script set up to hit off of "head, right leg, right hand, etc etc"

So, it don't check for scars.

Doesn't look like it was unattened. On a fast connection that could've been all of two seconds.

Most people don't use "look" for healing scripts, they use appraise. And the best do get hung up once in awhile.

She probably paniced and forgot to hit the ESC key.

I get the point of what your trying to say, but just for the sake of the actual situation it was a good bit longer than 2 seconds. I edited out a lot of excess crap that happened in between her attempts.

I guess what bothers me is that Tijay only had FOUR wounds. It now takes a script to heal FOUR wounds? To each his/her own, I suppose, but that just seems silly to me.

HarmNone, who would still use herbs

Trinitis
04-18-2004, 06:13 AM
I use a script for my healer. But then again, it don't make those mistakes.

On the other hand..I get bitched at a lot for healing TOO fast..but oh well.

Nieninque

I had a healer for a little while and tried a bad healing script...it did that thing and just went loco trying over and over to heal a scar...didn't use it again

Experienced that type of thing once myself. Of course I only let it fail twice, then escaped out, so its real good to know the "Why" of what happened, thanks Weezas.

I'v come to concluse that whoever wrote that script should be shot in the face. That's easaly fixed with matchwaits and a Counter set.
Match scar Scar
Scar:
Counter +1
Goto checkroom
Checkroom:
App %1
goto counter R%c

etc...
