So in Holocaust class we just finished the Lebensborn program and T-4 program and we just started watching this documentary on the Kindertransport.

Basically it was trying to get as many Jewish children as they could out of Germany before things got too out of control.

My god this video had me nearly in tears so many times. It's not really that it's sad, I mean they were saved from Hitler. What is sad is how their lives were ripped apart. They were saved but they lost their entire family and their entire previous life. The guilt some of them carried because they believed it was their job to help get their parents to England to save them from Hitler.

Not really sure why I made this topic, just sort of wanted to vent on it. If anyone wants to add anything...

It's even sadder that you have a course that's officially named "Holocaust class."

It's not. It's called Human Behavior. We study human behavior using the Holocaust and Germany in the time period as a case study. Everyone calls it Holocaust Studies.

Here's a great example of human behavior from the Holocaust and certainly supports Nazi-bashing:

</sarcasm>

May 10, 1941, Rudolph Hess flies to Scotland to meet the Duke of Hamilton and negotiate peace. He is then imprisoned and sentenced to life in 1945, being found guilty of crimes against peace. He remains in a Spandau cell for the remainder of his life, dying at 93 from assisted suicide on August 17, 1987. For 42 years, Rudolph Hess rotted away. All this because he tried to end the war.

BOO NAZIS!

Hitler (and thus Hess) didn't want to end the war. He wanted peace with Britain so he could focus on the Soviet Union.

Side note: He died 3 days before I was born. I feel sort of special.

Well.. yeah.

But he didn't want to be at war with Britain and Hess was stripped of everything and disowned by the Nazi party for it.

I used to think Bob was pretty cool and intelligent, I'm not sure what happened to him lately... Truth be told I'm kind of worried about him.

Does it matter? Britain was trying to stall a German invasion, Germany was trying to make peace with them so they could focus entirely on the Soviet Union.

How long do you think that peace would've lasted once Germany finished up over in Russia?
