General questions.

I know my student loans are not involved.

Hospital/medical? Basically All I have. And tons of it.

Is bankruptcy something I should do before getting married or wtf? I've read quite a few articles online and of course they all say something mostly different.

I know we've got our law people here and our financially adept as well.

Any advice would be grateful.

Best piece of advice: Don't take advice from an internet forum.

That said, I suspect a lot more details about your financial situation would have to be provided to make a solid recommendation.

Get some good advice from our gurus around here at times anyways.

I'll pull a credit a report and anyone interested in helping me decide is welcome to it.

Fact is I'm getting married and want to protect her as much as possible from my shit.

From what I've read, it shouldn't have any effect on your spouse's credit, so long as nothing was in her name. I believe it also depends on the type of bankruptcy you file, as there are Chapters 7 or and 13.

If you are generically concerned about your poor credit rating impacting her credit rating, bankruptcy isn't the answer. As long as nothing is in her name, they won't impact each other.

Declaring bankruptcy will have a furthering negative impact on your credit and will make obtaining any joint assets (house, car, etc) that much more difficult.

Thank you. All of our debts are separate although I did build hers up over the years and have it almost paid off.

Screw bankruptcy and you're all invited to my wedding.

Jeaniffer is a total ho. And it's Sean2's marriage... of course there will be double penetration.

And (open) bar fights, midgets, and someone will probably end up at the hospital.

I'm designing the invitations for a friend's wedding and--I kid you not--they are doing madlib RSVPs. Guests will just be filling in stuff about the couple, but I think there's some serious potential here for Sean.

This is fantastic.

So I was at this wedding for Sean2. Everything was going great until a giant komodo dragon showed up and started red rocketing on everyone...

That is true there. My husband had an unpaid ambulance bill from before we got married, and when we went to buy a house it had to get sorted before we could move forward.
Anything you do on your credit report will reflect poorly for her--not ON her credit report--but if you try to buy important joint things.

Except where you didnt see your kids while you were in FL, and couldnt contact them, because she didnt want you to find them??

Something like that.

Anyway - hope it works out, as always, we hope for the best - but prepare madlibs for the usual.

And the constable? Were we wearing text at this death we were all attending? That's just great. Finally 2 and a half people in jail. I'm dying to know whos little kid got put in jail...

In summation: :lol2:

If I could get away with it I'd totally bring strippers to a wedding. I attended two weddings this summer and I'm just kicking myself for not thinking of this myself.

Ahhhh! Hah, shit I did not know this. I'll go with the multiple personality thing then. This is quite the twist in my story. Even I didn't see this coming. Haha just re-read it and the mad lib actually goes along with the Idea. The "They really didn't like that" part fits perfectly into the scenario.

Honestly, it would make Weddings 10x more exciting. They can be so boring and throwing strippers into the mix is a sure fire way of spicing things up.

For more specific advice, not speaking as a lawyer, never ever make anything in the future on a joint account basis and you should be okay.
