Hi, I've recently started to hunt gremlocks and I'm having some trouble with their garrote maneuver. I have five ranks of cunning defense but they're still getting me. How many ranks of garrote would be enough not to get strangled? Thanks

Unfortunately, the gremlock garrote maneuver is different than CMAN garrote. Training the CMAN won't help you defend against it. I suspect its a standard maneuver roll, so training in your basic maneuver defense skills would probably help, as would slash resistant or crit padded neck armor.

and by "basic manuever defense" droit means PF, CM, and Perception.

consider getting an aventail resisted by a warrior, they can add slash resistance now you know

Will adding neck armor mean I'll have to add more armor use? I currently have 70 ranks in augmented chain.

Yes, that would bump you to hauberk penalties. Instead, get a warrior to add temporary slash resistance to your armor.

Slash resistance and crit padding don't help against garrote / gremlock garotte.
