That girl redefines idiocy. How'd she ever make it to college anyway.

Just think, embarassing all those friends she payed for.

For shame... for shame.

You don't have to be smart to go to college, or even graduate from it.

Sucks when people don't consider other's risks for something as trivial as a competition just for recognition. Although it is possible that nothing would have happened, I agree with how the faculty is handling the situation and hope that there is a way to pinpoint all the blood that was given by members of that sorority with said "health risks".

Ish! What a dumb thing to do. I suppose this girl's actions can be attributed to ignorance, but one has to wonder at the LEVEL of ignorance! :(

That was very ignorant and hazardous on her part. Hopefully a lesson learned for the sorority girl.

I have to think the Red Cross screens all the blood they get. The recent tatt or piercing thing I figure is more for the safety of the person who is donating, because you lose a lot of blood when you get those, right? What with the needles?

She's still dumz0r, but I doubt anyone would've gotten hurt except themselves.

I believe the reason for concern with regard to recent tatoos and piercings is due to the propensity for HIV (and certain other blood-borne pathogens) transmission during the tatooing, or piercing, process if instruments are not properly sterilized. If the tatoo/piercing has been recently done, the virus might not show up in the screening because replication is not yet fully underway. Therefore, there is the possibility of danger for those receiving the donated blood.

You don't lose much blood in piercing or tattooing, by the way.

I wish I could attribute it to simple ignorance.

Ignorance I could forgive, but this was not that. I have helped run a bunch of blood drives through our parish and the whole reason that this fool even wrote that email was because the blood center goes to great lengths to screen donors.

They are asked all those questions and the printed material they give out to organizations planning such events also goes over it explaining who can and who cannot give blood, and WHY.

Yes Latrinsorm of course the blood is screened after as well, but the sad fact is that accidents can and do occur. They do their best to protect us all, but why in heavens name should someone seek to make that job all the more difficult?

This was simply someone disregarding important medical advice and who was willing to put the health of anyone who would be receiving that blood aside for greater prestige in a pathetic SORORITY.

I'm at a loss to describe just how foolish and selfish this girl is and what sort of punishment should be given.

She should be kicked out of the sorority as well as anyone who lied on their screening. I also believe she should be expelled from school too, and everyone else who lied. Ignorance is one thing, negligence (sp?) is another.

I'm sure we've all made or done things that, in hindsight, were regreted. I'd bet Stanley's shriveled unused blue left testicle that she merely wanted to incite her sisters to win. Being a kid, and probably an impulsive and stupid one, she just didn't realize the implications of her actions.

I wouldn't burn her at the stake, but certainly there should be repercusions.

A testament to what some stupid, stupid girls will do in the name of their sorority. I was a sorority girl, I know how crazy some people can get. Sad thing is, it's the ones like that that make the news. What a stupid bitch.

P.S. Kudos to whoever turned her lame ass in.

That's freakin evil! She, and anyone who lied, should be kicked out of the school. No one can be that stupid not to realize the reprocussions.
