Oh, it'll be "shot" in 3D, again...by adding more effects...and more ships...and Jabba randomly...and Greedo will be shot by an errant shot from an Imperial trooper from the direction of the audience.

Seriously, it is just an excuse to throw more effects in for the third time.

I don't really care about how much money he milks from the franchise, or what alterations he makes to it. The movies are fun to watch, and they are the most fun to watch on a MOVIE THEATER SCREEN.

The original trilogy was just fine the way it was originally released. The special edition versions that re-wrote parts of the story and added some not-so-special effects were not necessary. Adding in the footage that he shot and edited out of the movies would have been fine. Creating new footage just because he wanted to, regardless of how it affected the story...eh, don't see the point.

The prequels were terrible though. Just terrible.

I imagine he'll do more editing with the 3d versions and bastardize a great series of films even more than he already has. The only way the 3d versions will be great is if they remove Jar Jar Binks from existance, re-cast the crappy Anakins, and rewrite the prequels from scratch.

Honestly, I'd rather he just create an entirely new 3D movie than trying to constantly change existing ones. American Graffiti in 3D next?

I've drunk deep of the haterade for Lucas. Especially after he claimed to have taped over the original films. Srsly. Taped over. So now all that's left is that remastered crap with Han Solo not shooting first.

I guess I just don't get it.

As far as I'm concerned Lucas can do whatever he wants to his property. To be entirely honest, I didn't even notice that they changed "who shot first" when I watched the remastered stuff in the theaters. Frankly, I don't care either. I own DVDs of both, so I can watch whichever I want. Usually, I choose the remastered versions.

I will fully admit though that the Gungans are a horrible, horrible race. Similarly, the Chinese-like Neimodians are pretty horrible as well.
