Archigeek is going for the Twins.. Sean is going for the Rays.. I'm going for the Rangers (and Phillies).. who's in?
I'm very pleased by the performance of the Rangers today. A lot of tension has been drained away by it in fact.
..but damn..
I think if people understood the nuances of certain events.. they'd enjoy baseball a lot more.
Roy Halladay, in his first ever post season appearance, missed a perfect game by a 3-2 walk.

Twins are looking pretty good tonight.. They always have trouble vs the yanks in the post season, hopefully they'll break that habit.

So much for that right?
Rivera wrapped it up and tied the loss in a nice bow for the Twins last night.

Halladay was about as perfect as you get, and Doc really earned the trip there after waiting so long for the Jays to get good enough.
I'm very anti Phllies being a Sox fan, but I'm glad to see Doc make a record in his first trip to the playoffs, and hope he does well. Yah, that would have been something, two perfect games in a year.
But a perfect and a no hitter the same year, he already has good enough numbers to be Hall of Fame worthy (not a first ballot shoe-in...yet) but he's building his case with those games, a Cy Young, and along with Sabathia has to be in the running for it this year at 21-10 and those pitching milestone games.

Quote from my dad:
"I knew the game was won when I saw Carl Pavano on the mound!"
