Hawks v. Avalanche on Thursday. A little nervous that we may have had to trade away too many of my favorites, but we'll see how it goes.

I've been hard pressed to buy NHL for the past two years because of the cover athletes....

If it makes you feel any better, I would gladly have Niemi back in goal.

Not a sport. Go to a god damn football thread to talk sports.

You're obviously fucking retarded. Hockey has everything football does and more... oh, except overly tight pants and guys slapping each other on the ass.

Ice and sticks? Really? Go beat on some more black things.

I think this sufficiently refutes your statement.

That falls under the "More" part, genius.

If you want to make football interesting, change the field to include hills and valleys, maybe the occasional trench. That would make it interesting. As far as it not being a sport, I'd like to know what you base that on. Violence happens, endurance is required, skill is required... You actually need to learn new things to play hockey. Football is just running, throwing, catching, and shoving...all things I could do shortly after I learned to walk.

Your example is better. I was just going to use the "keith loses 7 teeth, keeps playing".

Hills and valleys and trenches? Holy fuck you're delusional. Enjoy the ice!

Go back to fucking Michigan.

That's what it would take to make it interesting to me. This in no manner indicates I suffer from delusions, only that I find football to be boring as shit.

edit: More to the point, I didn't come to your thread and say football sucks. So fuck off.

Penguins represent! 1 period into the season. 245 more "regulation" periods to go. That's 4900 more minutes! Love seeing my team's new rink live, and I can't wait to get to go. HOCKEY ON!

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkillsHow can sprinting not get a 10 for speed? How is are martial arts as diverse as karate and BJJ a single sport? How is "nerve" a skill? How is anyone taking Brian Jordan and Chris McKendry's opinions seriously?

Does it matter if it has a 10 or not? It has the highest ranking in regards to speed. Just like weight lifting doesn't have a 10 either, but also has the highest ranking.

Jordan only played 2 different sports professionally and McKendry played tennis in college. Whether you agree with them or not they're going to have a better insight into the athletic world than most people.

Hawks lost in OT. I know, objectively, that Turco is supposed to be a great goalie... but I'm really not impressed thus far. Two games (pre-season and tonight) don't really give me enough to judge by, I guess. We'll see how it goes.

Not a sport. Go to a god damn football thread to talk sports.

Why is it everytime someone makes a thread about something other than football some football fanboy has to come in and say something like this?

Go watch last weekends games get analyzed for the 19939th time and STFU already.

We get it... You like football. Good for you. Now fuck off and let us appreciate a sport that isn't 3 hours of commercial breaks seperated by 72 seconds of actually playing the fucking game.

I...never thought I would profess my love for another man, but your cogent defense of hockey has led us to this strange pass. Thank you.

It's sad that the football season is already lost for me, so I have to pin my hopes on the Sabres winning the Cup. Good luck to me trying to find hockey on television in Texas.

How dare you besmirch the Stars that way, sir, how DARE you. I'm sure at least 13 of the 148,000 games they play this season will be against the Sabers. Buffalo is part of Canada. Nicole Simpson can't rap. I WANT JUSTICE.

In my mind, the Stars will always be in north, and the Wild does not exist.

Invest in the center ice package if you can get it... Totally worth the dough. Only $171 bucks if you get it right now, and the way I look at it that's two nights of staying in, which is easy to do if there's a good lineup of games on.

Hills and valleys and trenches... rofl.

You're still on that, I see. Consider that none of them need to be particularly large, and how much it would change the game tactically. You'd still basically be playing on a grid but with differences in elevation. Of course, there would probably be a lot more injuries, but with the money they get paid, I can live with that.
