The title of this thread is only loosely related to its content. I am considering starting up GS again, if only to have something to do during my sons naptime... and I could probably play it on eScape from work, now that I think about it.
Is there a purpose to doing so? I am unsure. I know I'll be broke, because I sold all my coin, but I kept all my fighting gear, so at least I can hunt and maybe consider RP... but I can't decide. Anyone want to weigh in and shove my mind in one direction or another?
I realize this is akin to a junkie asking junkies for advice.
Edited to blame Ebondale for even making me think about this.

Hey, if I could convince even ONE person to return to Elanthia then I've done a good deed. Not for Simutronics sake, but for all the players that need more people to interact with.
For what it's worth, my limited impressions for someone that has been away for a long time and just got back. Seems to be between 200-300 players in Prime usually. I haven't bothered checking on Platinum yet because I imagine it'll be dismal if Prime has like 1/4 to 1/5 the number I remember and I remember Platinum having only like... 40 people online?

If you do come back, don't just fall into the groove of hunting and tabling. If you do, it will be mildly entertaining for a short while, then depressingly boring. I would suggest poking around the Landing, if only because invasions are fun. As for playing versus NOT playing, if you've the free time there's nothing wrong with doing so.

I think that might be the key... spending my time doing nothing does sound more appealing than actually hunting.

Alright I have now returned for at least the next couple of months... keep me from being bored.

If you actually considered playing with eScape it's already time for an intervention.

There are a multitude of better things you could be doing during your sons nap time...laundry, dishes, vacuuming, dusting....

I have to admit ED's thread made me want to get back into the game too. Restraint, lack of time and a techno-disability that prevents me from using any of the awesome user-created addons played a large part in the dissuasion.

Except I got married... so I don't do that.
