I have a rather noob question, if somone would be kind enough to help me out with it.
How do I record a game log? sorry, but SF just feels a little clunky to me.
Not so savy at such things.

anyone have any favorite logs they would care to share?

You have to click on the window that is to the left of center. They can sometimes be shrunk/defenestrated, so you may need to enlarge them. Click on the STORY window eye icon. Once it is colored (not greyed), logs should be recorded.

Jesus. When I think about how much space my gigabytes of text logs would occupy as video files, my mind boggles.

Not the eye icon, the disk icon. The eye icon for a window will tell you if that window is visible or not. The floppy disk icon next to the eyeball will tell you if a log is recording for that specific window. If you're after general game logs, be sure to have at least the story window disk icon turned on (it will be blue when it's on). If you use things like room window, inventory window, etc. and want those logged as well, be sure their respective disk icons are lit up. The first time you click a disk icon, it will ask you to designate a location for the logs to be stored. If you want to change this location, turn off all logging, then turn it back on again and you will be prompted for a path.
