I'm recently back to GS after about 8 or 9 years. I wasn't around when the skill and info bonus enhansive items came out. I bought a couple not to long ago and was wondering about recharging them. Aside from the Adventurer's guild, how does one recharge them? Does 517 work? I don't want to risk crumbling mine! I've heard they last around 6 months? Is this true or is it X amount of time having them worn? Any insight would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Avoiding the obvious joke about your name, my advice is to get a bard. You can sing to an enhancive to figure out what it does, how many charges it has, and if it crumbles. The only way to recharge them is the Adventurer's Guild, unless you get lucky at the very rare merchant who'll do it. You use enhancive charges by putting them on, taking them off, and wearing them. They're drained over time in the last case, and it's a percentage chance to drain a charge at each interval.

One minor correction.

putting them on only. As per a previous Zyllah post on the officials, for wearable enhancives it is only on the "wear" verb that you have a chance at an active loss, not on remove, or swap, or get, or anything else. (still have the while worn chance).

For held enhancives (shields, weapons) it is the get verb only, AND equivalents such as gird.

That's cool. I've always been worried that "sort" drained charges.

It's also worth noting that for at least the past two holiday seasons (like 2 weeks in december i think) the guild has allowed charging via silvers instead of bounty points. Something to think about as the end of the year is coming and it'll probably happen again. I forget the exchange rate, but most people agree that it's more economical to spend silvers than BPs to charge your stuff up.
