I can't see your post, but I did see the poll.
"not with the method Durg used which deceived his friends"
For the record, I was not deceived, I was just not informed until it was over. The IM traffic went something like this:
"wait...you're scamming him?"
"yeah"
"I'm a patsy!"
Durg and I have been friends for years and we will continue to be so at the same level we were before this.
the end.

Some people might say so, but to me there is a fine line between lying and omitting the exact truth.

Not in my mind, and since it happened to me, my definition is what counts.

I do not think he should have been robbed.
A debate about the legal status of virtual items aside -- we all know the items have significant real-world value.
Theft is theft, no matter who you're stealing from. He took something that did not belong to him. The act of stealing is unethical, be it from Caligula's pocket or Mother Teresa's.

Well, he stole back what he originally paid for that was stolen from him. Just took a little more booty...A bigger badder pirate... FAP you have no room to talk, your clan stole from everyone in the landing.

I killed people in-game using regular game mechanics. I wouldn't ever stoop so low as to deceive someone of their account info, log into their account with the intention of stealing items worth $1500+, then brag about it on the forums.
Spin it any way you want. It was theft with a direct real-world impact.
Might as well have gone to his house and stolen his bike, then said it was fine because he didn't play Gemstone the way you liked.
Funny that I seem to be the only one who finds this kind of behavior wrong. How does it feel to be an amoral shitbag tricking yourself into thinking you're a decent person? At least I know who I am and I'm not afraid to face it.
I don't like him in the least, but that doesn't warp my capacity to tell right from wrong.
This thread kind of lacks in the response from Inspire department.

Hahahaha, Noone could come close to being as big of a shitbag as you. Now all I want to do is punch your face in. Which somehow you will turn it into me being the shitbag because I punched a pissy school girl. Because thats how your logic works, which ever benefits you is the right way... BTW. Check my spelling for me.

I think there is something in the game policy (which you've apparently agreed to follow) that forbids the sale of items and characters for currency.

But affecting people's gameplay by hacking into Stormfront is ok.

That's a little confusing. You've related one person stealing items using account info with going to someones house and stealing their bike, and related the other person stealing items using account info with.. um.. playing Gemstone in a certain way.
It's more like going to someone's house and "stealing" your own bike back from them, which they had stolen from your house earlier. And while you're there, you steal their TV too. Of course, taking the TV is still wrong, but your analogy misrepresents the situation to the point that no one would see that. They'll just see that you're wrong.

Okay, my analogy was off, and yours is more apt.
It isn't that he took his bike back that I find particularly wrong. It's that he also decided to take the sofa and TV while he was there. It really doesn't make him any better than Inspire. He thought it was something justified (you know.. he "deserved" it).
If I'm an amoral shitbag for thinking theft is wrong, Liagala, what does that make the rest of you who applaud it?
He probably stole the TV from someone else anyway.

Oh, you're not an amoral shitbag for thinking theft is wrong. Generally, I agree with you there. I think this specific situation is ethical but not legal. Yes, Durg stole from Madam. Theft is wrong. In this case though, I think Madam's shitty treatment of the one person who stood by him despite his douchbaggery makes the theft deserved, even if still legally wrong. You don't do that to your friends. That's my personal opinion however, not an absolute judgement on the situation. If this was reality, Durg would still go to prison for theft, deserved or not.
You're an amoral shitbag for a whole host of other reasons.

My Gemstonian morality is shaky at best, yet I've still managed to peer down my nose in ethical disdain at the greater community with very little in the way of mental gymnastics.
You've opted to attack the man when the ideas are unassailable. My point stands: You're all douchebags.

You're obtuse, transparent, unimaginative and by extension boring to argue with. You're not even annoying like michael or jaeden. It's pretty disappointing because you really do have so much potential for trolling with the position you kind of fell into here.
