Which could have been avoided if they'd stopped trying to walk through the careening jumble of furniture and braced themselves against a wall or behind something bolted down.

This reminds me of the first time I got drunk, I went into a hallway, and the walls looked like they were closing in, and then opening back out, and then closing in again, it was like playing red light/green light, I'd walk down the hall when the walls were open, then stop when they closed, then start walking again when they opened.

Video footage has emerged of passengers and furniture being thrown across the floor of a cruise liner as the ship was battered by stormy seas.

The P&O Pacific Sun hit rough waters 400 miles off the coast of New Zealand.

As the ship rocked violently to and fro, guests and staff tried to grab anything that was nailed down.

Receptionists clung to their desks and computers, as waves washed in as high as the fifth deck.

But some passengers were unable to hold on and they were flung to the floor, while tables and chairs hurtled towards them.

In a scene that could be straight out of a Hollywood disaster movie, the CCTV images show people repeatedly thrown from one side of the deck to the other.
