This stood out in a log someone (thanks Chris) sent me to peruse today.... this drives me NUTS.
You hear the faint thoughts of Dragonsongs echo in your mind:
"any massies about to be had?"
>
You hear the faint thoughts of Poloneus echo in your mind:
"yeah, right after I get my boxies picked, see the merchie, and get my owies healed."
Though I give points to Poloneus for a witty answer. Anyone who can show me an actual "boxie," I'll give you five million silver.
And if I have to do that, I'm going to do something very mean to the GM that altered said box.

<-- had a boxie, but you can keep your silvers. Had it altered for a daughter of mine, then she left the lands, so I tossed it. She always said she was always going to get her boxie's picked by a smithy.
It was cute when she said, course she constaly added y or ie to everything.

People that add "ies" to random words deserved to be tea bagged by yours truly.

oh dear, you mean she added y's or ies to the end of everytyhing? Like "Helloies dereys mighty yah wanny healy me witttly woundies?" I feel a strong urge to take whatever creatre that speaks like that and stick it in a microwave! Thats horrible...
Only thing worse is cute girls that stick there photos in their Avatars....few names come to mind, including Spungirl, its hard to pay attension to what they say! Maybe I just get distracted easy, lol

The same morons that say "ies" are the idiots that call Wehnimer's Landing: The Landings.

I liked his response... though I do understand your irritation at folks who attach an ie or y to everything they say. I don't see it too often though, and anyone who talks like this constantly needs to get beat with a grammar stick.

Mint, ya know me well.
Pity guns aren't allowed in GS.
I'll have to opt for a bow and ebladed arrows.

As long as they keep the y and ies in a form of consistancy, I personally don't see a problem with it. As long as its a RP enviroment I see nothing wrong with a small gaggle of folks doing it, however, it does not mean that I will be around them.
I hide in the far outreaches for a reason you know.

Ending sentences with "y"s and "ie"s is a prerequisite for halfling.
Snowdrop asks, "Ewwos, anywuns open fer a few hobgobwin boxies, pweese?"

First off, you're a lying bastard.
Snowdrop would never and has never spoken like that.
Secondly, youre a thick bastard.
Snowdrop isnt a halfling
Thirdly youre a thick lying bastard
And you smell.

I always used to explain it like this in OOC whispers to people in DR when they called my paladin a "pallie".
whisper whoever, OOC: I play a paladin, not a "pallie". Some of my hunting partners are barbarians... they're sure not "barbies."
