Did I just hear Obama say combat operations in Iraq were over? He can't seem to move out of President Bush's shadow. Bush already made that speech seven years ago!

On May 1, 2003, Bush became the first sitting President to make an arrested landing in a fixed-wing aircraft on an aircraft carrier[2][3] when he arrived at the USS Abraham Lincoln in a Lockheed S-3 Viking, dubbed Navy One, as the carrier returned from combat operations in the Persian Gulf. He posed for photographs with pilots and members of the ship's crew while wearing a flight suit. A few hours later, he gave a speech announcing the end of major combat operations in the Iraq War. Far above him was the warship's banner stating "Mission Accomplished."

More specifically, Bush said (http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/05/01/bush.transcript/index.html), "my fellow Americans, major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

So given that phrase was never uttered in his speech, have you gone round the bend, or are you your usual level of retarded?

I can see where words like "combat" and "mission" used in conjunction might confuse you, but only because I'm required to work with absolute morons day in and day out.

"So tonight, I am announcing that the American combat mission in Iraq has ended. Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country."

I don't know what you're talking about. They both said combat operations were ceasing. But Bush said it first!
