edit: I wrote this log. it's my submission for Flannihan's swamp contest. I even tricked her into thinking it was a current area. Muahaha. Enjoy.

[Terasian Coast - Jungle Clearing]
The dense jungle thins out as you near the coast, the smell of salty air wafting in with the ocean breeze. A fresh lava flow drains out from a break in the steep cliffs to your east. The hardened lava curls around the edges of what was a small bay. Shoals of volcanic glass sparkle in the celestial light. Also here: Jaeden
Obvious exits: south
>climb flow
You carefully climb down a curling lava flow, stepping cautiously onto the slippery shoals below.
>
[Terasian Coast, Glaes Shoal]
The ocean roars as heavy waves crash onto the glaes shoals, spraying mist into the air. Volcanic glass crunches under your feet as you descend the precarious slope, gnarled roots and vines serving as generous footholds. Also here: Jaeden

[Terasian Coast, Glaes Shoal]
A cast-iron pipe crosses the trail here, the logo of the Borthuum mining company visible under a thick layer of rust and brine. The pipe's mouth is perched upon a rotting wooden frame that hangs over the edge of the shoals. A crude drainage mechanism, the pipe appears to have once carried slag and other waste to be dumped into the bay.
Obvious exits: down
Jaeden followed.
>d
[Terasian Coast, Glaes Shoal]
The ground is rockier and more uneven here, as the roots of a massive mangrove tree have pierced the rock and disrupted the congruency of the lava pattern. The combination has formed a crude buffer against the waves, as black sand has built up on the ocean side of the shoal. The thick canopy of the mangrove obstructs a shaded passage which dips down away from the shoals toward the bayside.
Obvious exists: none
Jaeden followed.
>go passage
The mangrove branches are too thick to allow passage.
>attack branch
You swing your gnarled witchwood runestaff at the mangrove branches, jostling them but accomplishing little else.
>kill branch
You swing your gnarled witchwood runestaff at the mangrove branches, jostling them but accomplishing little else.
A lush vine wraps itself around you runestaff, wrenching it from your grip!
>'try your sword
You say, "Try your sword."
>
Jaeden slices a lush vine with his serrated golvern claidhmore. A gnarled witchwood runestaff is knocked loose from the tangle of vines and branches, clamoring to Jaeden's feet.
>get rune
You pick up a gnarled witchwood runestaff.

[Terasian Coast, Shade of the Mangrove]
As you duck your head under the low branches of the mangrove, a thick odor of rotting plant matter is quite apparent. Hundreds of roots snake out of the base of the massive mangrove and plunge into the thick sand at the edge of the swamp. The thick canopy shields you from the glaring sunlight, but the area is still plagued by a rancid humidity. You also see a dwarven miner's ghost.
Obvious exits: northeast

A dwarven miner's ghost says something anxiously in dwarven.

Opening a fold in his muddy coat, a dwarven miner's ghost pulls out a brine-encrusted timepiece. He opens it and scrutinizes it attentively, his thick spectral brows bunching up from under his steel miner's helmet.
>
Suddenly, the miner's ghost snaps the timepiece shut, glancing up at you with a serious expression that burns with despair!
>
The miner's ghost grunts in exertion as he heaves a thick invar sledgehammer into the air, bringing it down solidly on a thick chunk of earth! The area is spattered with mud and debris!
Jaeden ducks to the side, narrowly avoiding a small rock as it whizzes past his head!
Jaeden stumbles to his knees as he ducks out of the way of a thick glob of mud!
You are struck in the face by a glob of mud!

[Terasian Coast, Swamp Haven]
Obviously some crude form of residence, the canvas sail has been converted into a large tent. Flat pieces of volcanic glaes have been carefully laid to form a stone floor. A fire pit and small stone altar oven sit in the center of the room. The floor here is devoid of vines, and dry branches and other wooden debris sit in a pile in a corner of the tent. You also see an elderly dwarven storyteller.

Rotting oak planks are strewn about here, and paths split off in various directions. A single, towering cypress tree shades the area, its wide trunk leaning towards the inland as if it were once slightly uprooted by a great storm. A collection of rusting invar chains are strewn about, some of them attached to sets of steel manacles. The chains are fastened together and one is wrapped around the width of the cypress and fastened with a steel padlock. The area is littered with hundreds of rusting strongboxes, coffers and chests of all shapes and sizes. Well-hewn planks of cypress are nailed to long cross-beams which have been camouflaged from the bottom, making this treehouse invisible from afar. A thick patch of swamp irises thrives here in the shade of a towering cypress tree. [Terasian Coast, Shipwreck]
The beams of a massive Krolvin ship rise out of the mire forming what first appeared to be an ancient monolith. I didn't read it all, but I'm guessing you took a real log and then modified it with new room descripts and the like. Looks nice. One thing jumped out at me as I scanned it though.

Jaeden slices a lush vine with his serrated golvern claidhmore. A gnarled witchwood runestaff is knocked loose from the tangle of vines and branches, clamoring to his feet.

How does a runestaff clamor to it's feet? How did you know the runestaff was a he?

"Ha ha... You totally got me! I was scratching my head trying to figure out what version of GS you know about that I dont! Those are truly excellent room, creature and item descriptions and it was a pleasure to read through them. I will definately work on getting as much of that as I can out into the game for all to enjoy. Some of this is a one year project and some is a two year project... just wanted to let you know that so you wouldnt be scouring around for it in the next couple of weeks. You are very talented and I especially enjoyed your manacled elves! Nice touch.
