I was going to just put it up on the repository but I thought of a much more fun game to play. Everyone that posts with two kills of Madam or any of his alts will get sbounty. Think of it as a post-beta pre-release. I still plan on putting it up on the repo but until I do so I figured this would be a wonderful way for the former Marluites and current Vanguard to form a sacred bond.

Group kills count as one kill per person. Take a group of five and make the job that much easier.

YAY! Shattered is about to become fun again. Not only do I get to kill the people coming at me, I finally have something to do at night while everyone is AFK scripting. Revenge killing is so much fun.

Well I suppose I was going to post these eventually anyway, guess I'll do it now and get myself a bit of a bonus. Oddly enough to note the script I had made for me and had been tweaking, actually took the Madam kill, I came to computer when it played music for drops dead at your feet! Just kinda went for it after that, figured might as well...boy was he pissed, there is currently a bounty on my head for the events of the following night.

AS: +483 vs DS: +89 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +83 = +506
... and hits for 172 points of damage!

Madam becomes solid again.
The air about Madam stops shimmering.

A gravelly voice from the crowd echoes, "Murder! Murder!

Now for Harry in wind wraiths, figured after the Madam bit, he was gonna be pissy anyway so I went ahead and took em both out in the same night.

He can release sbounty how and when he chooses, or not at all. It's his script. He can change his mind 100 times, if he wants to. So far, he hasn't that I've seen. He said originally that it wouldn't be released until Marlu disbanded. Marlu has disbanded, and within a day, he announced release (with fun contest attached). Where's the lie?

Considering my perma-fried-at-a-table empath gets about 2k/hr with 87 logic, I think it sounds pretty damn good.

You have to setup areas for bounties you want to do. There is no gigantic creature database to pull data from so that's on you.

Just a heads-up = you might consider reworking this into having a 'sbounty-light' version. Cervina (Rane) has been working on a bigshot alternative that allows more intricate hunting specifically designed for high level hunting. Might be nice to have this able to work with it.

Why would sbounty stop hunting in the middle of trying to kill enough critters to find the kid, and then go run off and turn in the bounty for another? Head was only half full. Hrmm.

Just saw this happen on my other character too. Mid-rest sbounty got up and turned in the child rescue bounty it had been working on and went and got another nearly identical bounty.

Edit: 15 minutes later, it turned in a cull bounty it had been successfully working on, just to get another bounty. Bah. What r the problemo

Works fine for gem bounties, but cull, child rescue, and grizzled bounties are all getting turned back in before completion, even though it works on them for a little bit.

Edit: It's turning them back in at the end of the 15 minute bounty timer regardless of completion, except in the case of gem bounties.

It might have a gui. I've been thinking about a couple of ways that a gui might be possible to work in. We'll see. :)

Your area isn't set up right. It's not recognizing the bounty and is going into default hunting mode.

So how do I set it up right? I input the same destination room # and perimeter room #s that I've been using in bigshot for some time now.

No, I'm not trying to bash it, I am saying I thought it would be more per hour. Also, logic on node IIRC doesn't really matter, I could be wrong though, its been a while since I had time to play.

The only reason I don't like gui's is it adds another layer of complexity to introduce bugs into. And I feel that if you cannot be bothered to open the script to read it and set a few variables you are probably going to have problems if you ever encounter a bug.

Herbheal's worked a long time without a gui. Just sayin. Otherwise, good karma to Spiffy for releasing it. I know I wouldn't have.

Wow, damn. Just tried this out for a few hours at work this morning and kind of jaw-dropped when it just did two culls and a child rescue after setting up two areas.

I generally agree with this, but Spiffy is around a lot and seems more than willing to help anyone who has questions or thinks they've encountered a bug (Unless the question is really dumb, and even then he'll probably still answer it). The big bonus to having a gui is that more people will use it.

That being said, so far none of the stuff I build has a gui. I -want- people to open scripts I build for them and try doing something to it. It's a great way to learn.

Also makes updating a huge pain in the ass.

Complex scripts should at least have a CLI config dialog. I don't want to have to hardcode all of my settings for each character.

I had literally over 300 lines of code in sbounty pre-gui for hunting areas. Some things need a gui, period.

This, x100. When I was beta testing with Vanguard every update required a large ordeal of copying settings then repasting them. People were missing commas, braces, etc and jacking everything up. Hell, I didn't even like editing the script.

No offense, but how is your automated process my fault? It took the bounty in the landing - did it, then attempted to turn it into vornavis. I had nothing to do with it... I'm just going to stop trying to help.

It attempts to locate the nearest room from the array. I've never had an heirloom bounty fail to return it to the proper location. Without logs, it's kind of difficult to see what's going on.

Some bounties in WL take you pretty deep to the vornavis trail if you're certain levels. That's probably what happened.

Works fine for gem bounties, but cull, child rescue, and grizzled bounties are all getting turned back in before completion, even though it works on them for a little bit.

Edit: It's turning them back in at the end of the 15 minute bounty timer regardless of completion, except in the case of gem bounties.

I was doing it wrong. :(

Once I bothered to read Spiffy's instructions, I got it figured out. I had to download the updated bigshot and specify targets with full names instead of just single word designations. Now it's working great and I get all the chix. Thanks Spiffy!

Now, second time this has happened. This is seriously pissing me off. I did everything right this time. Put in each area, put in each critter, set boundries, starting position, checked the right boxes, etc. Why the hell is it doing this? It cancels all tasks except cull, gem, and dangerous creature. Last time it cancelled my child task. Wtf?

The town walls lie perhaps one hundred feet to the north, with dwarven militiamen pacing back and forth atop them. A rock garden to the west displays a wide variety of fascinating boulders. Beyond the garden, a barge makes its way south down the River Muagh, its decks piled high with freshly-cut logs. To the east Glaes Street, lined with small wood and stone homes, continues a few hundred feet to the walls of the canyon. You also see the Dwarven deputy.

The street enters the wall of the canyon, into an arch perhaps fifty feet high. Just outside the tunnel is a sturdy, three-story stone tower. This is the headquarters for the local militia. Uniformed dwarves bearing axes and hammers swagger in and out of its steel double doors. You also see a large stone building.

Thick and windowless marble walls enclose this rather spacious lobby, which is liberally decorated with the mounted heads of both exotic and mundane beasts. The floor is covered with fine bearskin rugs and various specimens of antique dwarven stone furniture. Overhead, a massive candle-lit chandelier adequately illuminates the area and provides for the impressive shadows cast by the various stuffed beasts arrayed about the room. You also see Guild Taskmaster Dayle.

You'll probably have more luck getting help and/or reporting issues if you post in the correct folder.

He'd probably also have better luck if he attempted to figure out answers to his own problems, tested different settings, or did anything at all other than ask an endless stream of simple questions on the boards and lnet.

A) I had been helping him in game, and we decided that his problem was over rmy head, so he posted here. I actually was helping him, so fuck yourself.

You add a certain flair to these Shattered boards, even when you were busy with school, you still took the time to come here. I find your comments responsive to posts, often humorous, and interesting. Glad you're back to having fun IG, and thank you for just being you!

This is a problem in Solhaven too where it'll take you back to the Landing when you use some of the preset ;go2 targets. To combat this in the bounty script I've been using, I ;go2 to my safe area before turning in bounties. Not the most efficient since there may be some back tracking, but doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
