Anyone ever take this shit before? Had any problems etc?

I'm always chicken shit when prescribed new drugs.

It is a component in one of my migraine medicines..it does make me a tiny bit woozy, however most of the time because my med also contains caffeine I don't really notice it.

It's an anxiolytic drug. Used, as the name would imply, to treat anxiety (and PMS). Having PMS, Sean?

But yeah, like other anxiolytics, it can make you drowsy. Rather, it will make you drowsy. So be careful with driving. Alcohol will amplify this effect. They can also fuck up your stomach, but for most people, this stops being an issue after about two weeks.

It's not the same class as the benzodiazepines, so there's not a big risk of dependency. If you take it for sleep, do be aware that anything really you take for sleep can be habit forming and cutting it out quickly can cause some anxiety about going to sleep, making you kind of dependent on it for sleep.

It's pretty safe. It has a short half life, which means it's not going to stick around in your system for days and days, but it still might take a couple of weeks to start helping.

Either way, stay in contact with your doctor about any side effects, even if it's not listed somewhere as a potential side effect.

It gives you a deadly combination of AIDS, ebola, and leprosy.

I didn't list the side effect where it makes you crave semen in your ass?

Thus why I've never participated in anything other than 2 guys 1 girl consisting of variations of oral and vag/anal penetration from opposite ends.

I consider DP gayness.

On another note I'm note sure I like this buspar shit so far but I'll give it a week I guess. I may go back to Zoloft or something instead. Zloft is pretty mild and never gave me major side effects unless you consider limp dick serious (OMGZ HELL YES SERIOUS).

My current daily med list:

Clonidine 0.1mg x2 daily
Buspar 10mg x3 daily
Librium 25mg x3 daily
Lisinopril 10mg x1 daily
and Penicillin every 6 hours which is obviously a temp med.

And no I don't have the clap roflz the Penicillin is for a wisdom tooth that needs to come out. I'm on the cancellation list for the oral surgeon.

Anyways when I take my morning doses it really kicks my ass. I don't know how people that have to be up for work at like 5am could do that shit.

The buspar really hasn't fucked with me yet in any way that I can tell but I'd rather not take it. Next week I'll tell my Doc I want something else that doesn't have hot dog fingers listed in the side effects.

Christ mate. I'm going to stop complaining about downing 2 tabs a day. Good luck with that.

Good thing you're not taking more! You need that money to rip the sleeves off of t-shirts and make some armbands!

Sean, is the librium for anxiety, alcohol withdrawal or IBS?

Librium is for anxiety and to help keep my heart rate down/constant.

They only give librium for withdrawal for like 3 days and usually only at an inpatient supervised detox.

I've been on that shit since like 01/08 now.

has it always been 25mg x3? that's a pretty light dosage.

Begin taking a 50mg dose of hydroxyzine before bedtime (you need an Rx for this because it's less anticholinergic than Benadryl and that's too efficient to make available to the masses.)

Take anywhere from 6-24mg of melatonin. If you fatally OD on melatonin, you can also fatally OD on water (it's probably easier to OD on water.)

Take fucking Zyprexa or Seroquel for the love of God. Do not fucking play around with your dosages and then "not like them" because instead of a scored 2.5mg 1.25 starter dose you took 20mgs.

Take less of your Librium and cope with the rebound symptoms. Go outside when you're feeling your worst coming off of it. Then, continue to get your prescriptions filled and when you have to deal with real fucking shit, you can take a dose of a medication that will actually do something now that you don't have tolerance to it. That medication really isn't Librium, but it's definitely not Buspar. Buspar is sort of a medication, specifically, for people who didn't witness their dead grandmother crawling out of her grave and screaming about how "it" was their fault. By the way, I'm telling you to self-medicate, which isn't self-medicating under whatever other Dr. ... it wouldn't be self-medicating for (and if you're tight on medical coverage, you may not be able to find a doctor, that quickly, who doesn't answer only to the literature as opposed to their patient.)

Or something like that.

Buspar's short-acting anxiolytic effects for people with clinical anxiety, like us, has about, roughly, 0.5% of the anxiety-fighting effects of taking an O.K. shit in the morning -- When I was on Buspar, I tried to create a merry fucking placebo effect in my brain to make me think it was doing something other than putting a band-aid on cancer. So ... Maybe it will help your cognitive and imaginary processes?

Anyway: Cardiovascular. Eat well. Chew less nicotine gum than me. Don't drink. You probably have at least two-and-a-half of these covered better than I do, so you're off to a good start.

Congratulations, you have just not had to take Effexor, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Prozac, Cymbalta, Luvox, Paxil, Celexa, Norpramin, Zoloft again and, finally, Mirtazapine/Remeron, before being put on an alpha-2 agonist or back on a beta blocker. Eventually, after not having followed any of my advice, your Dr. might get creative or financially motivated and try something fun like Lyrica (which is really cool, because you get to see TV commercials for your anti-anxiety medication being prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis.)

Okay. Good luck

I would rather have ten times the clinical neuroses I do and know that much more about these sugar pills than be a hypothetical schizophrenic with depression or suffer from stage 3 dementia. I've seen some truly tormented individuals. I don't like to think about people who just take the one-pill-a-day in the form of true hopelessness. Some of the older anti-psychotics. Scary stuff.

I thought it was a pretty high dosage personally? They started it out at like 5 and went up over the years.

It's not just for my anxiety bullshit it's supposed to help keep my normal heart rate below 120ish beats per minute as well.

At any rate it definitely works as make me chill pill. Just don't drink a half gallon of vodka on it like I did 3 years ago.

I had a rx for wellbutrin but it wasn't covered by my insurance so I said fuck off.

I have new insurance now so it may be covered. In a week I'm going to discuss seroquel as that's what my mother takes and swears by it. My brother took effexor and paxil with varied results. I'm going for seroquel first and paxil as a second choice.

I know a lot of times we (at the my clinic I work in) can do a Prior Authoriztion to get insurance companies to approve drugs that are not covered by policies. Normally it takes a phone call from us, which may or may not involve answering questions about drugs the patient has tried and failed, allergies to certain drugs etc. We mainly get a little LMN (letter of medical necessity) faxed over to us, we fill it out, and normally end up with approval. So that may be a way to go ..you know if you want to try Wellbutrin, or really any other drug your insuance says "No" to.

I thought it was just for anxiety, I apologize. Seroquel and Zyprexa were both very helpful for me. Eventually, I didn't need to be on them because I was on them. Just please be careful about how much you eat. I think they effect leptin and ghrellin (sp? some hypothalymus crap) that affects your satiety. If you watch what you eat, I think Zyprexa or Seroquel can really help just about anyone who's having it prescribed for them. I really hope your insurer covers it. Watch your appetite.

Watch my appetite as in it will make me always hungry or something? My mother takes Seroquel and is skinny as a rail but eats constantly I dunno.

The Hydroxazine or whatever it's called I have 5 full bottles of the shit sitting here. Several were my mothers she just never takes it and several are my now deceased grandmothers. I've tried it a few times to help me sleep but didn't notice a difference.

It the last couple of months before her death my grams was always asking me to get her one of her pills which she was referring to her lorazipam/ativan and my mother and aunt made me give her the hydroxzine because she didn't know the difference. /shrug

@b4and. Yeah I'll have to get that done if I want to try the wellbutrin. I just had it done for my lidocaine patches this week actually. Went from costing $300 plus for the 30 to a $3 copay with prior authorization and it only took like two days to go through the channels.
