We adopted a cat today, and get to pick her up later in the week (after she's fixed).

ok, here's the picture they have of her on the animal shelter web site.

She's so little, she looks like a kitten but she's really 3.

Her name is Raquel. I think we'll choose to pronounce it Raw Quell, cause we are uppity white color snobs.

It may look cute, but sooner or later, you'll have to accept the one fact that every cat owner has to accept.

Cats are the devil.

Isn't the "we" in that sentence a way to say that you and her a couple?

Not too quick on the uptake, are you? lol

Answering your question, yes.

I'm quick enough, since I posted the question. I didn't wanted to start rumors or all, even if it doesn't affect me in any ways.

Aren't you 33-34, though and her 22 or 23?

Cute kitty, I have little dogs at home, but we have adopted two wild kittens at the restaurant. At first they wouldn't come near us, but after 2 months of bribing they have become lap cats. They are adorable, but will hate me soon as I plan on catching them and taking them to the vet to be fixed.

I tend not to post personal things about my relationships or such here X, don't need the drama that usually accompanies it.

A simple "I don't want to talk about it" would suffice:)

Don't need to justify yourself, even less to me

To stay on topic: cats are cool, but incredibly stupid.

Nice looking cat.

Boo, hiss to all you cat-haters out there

I wish I could have a cat myself...but unfortunately my son's too little yet...maybe when he gets a bit older.

Not having a dog or cat at the moment I would love either.

Congrats for you and for her, may you enjoy many healthy years of friendship.

Man, that just makes me ache for a cat even more. I love all animals, and I'm generally happy with the dogs I've had all my life but... I've always wanted a cat! My mother's violently allergic to cats, though, so we never had one growing up. Now, it's only a matter of time! We just gotta get a bigger place, so that the cat doesn't feel too cramped in with the dog. Want everyone to be comfy.

Anyway, really pretty cat! She looks skeptical in that picture, for some reason. Angle of the whiskers and all..

But I had to brag about the cat, no one's ever got me a cat before!

Maybe we'll just change her name, Raquel is so.... uppity.

I adore cats. I happen to be allergic, heavily, though. For the love of my son, we keep one called Menon, Menon le minou.

Cats are still highly stupid.

Aw how cute. I'm thinking of getting a cat either spring break or June, I figured a dog would put too much stress on the dog we already have.

This thread makes me want a kitty, but I know having a dog is work enough in this small-ass apartment I'm living in. Maybe when I buy a house...

Maimara that cat is adorable. I love how small she is.. and Raquel is a cute name.

Cats are wonderful. I had cats and dogs all the time while growing up but the cats were always outside ones.

Nowadays, half the places don't let you adopt a cat if you're going to let it go outside so the two I have now are both indoor ones. That makes such a difference on how they socialize with you.

My two cats are my kids for all intents and purposes. Except they aren't as noisy, they smell better, they don't talk back, you don't have to pay constant attention to them... Much better than children.

The dog needs company!! And cats take up very little space!

Please don't name that cat Raquel.

However, they smell really, really bad.

She's already named Raquel, it's just a matter of... should we change it or not.

Since she's an only child (of that species, anyway), we could always just go with 'the cat'.

Just like any animal, it's all in how well you take care of them. If you use scoopable litter, and clean out the litter box once a day, you won't even notice there's a cat.

I guess space matters too. In a small space you'd probably notice it more, as there's less air flow and more stagnation. (Is that even a word?)
